Social Responsibility and Ethics

Social responsibility is an ethical theory, in which individuals are accountable for fulfilling their civic duty; the actions of an individual must benefit the whole of society. In this way, there must be a balance between economic growth and the welfare of society and the environment. If this equilibrium is maintained, then social responsibility is accomplished.

What it Means to be Socially Responsible and Ethical?

The theory of social responsibility is built on a system of ethics, in which decisions and actions must be ethically validated before proceeding. If the action or decision causes harm to society or the environment then it would be considered to be socially irresponsible.

Moral values that are inherent in society create a distinction between right and wrong. In this way, social fairness is believed (by most) to be in the “right”, but more frequently than not this “fairness” is absent. Every individual has a responsibility to act in manner that is beneficial to society and not solely to the individual.
When Do Social Responsibility and Ethics Apply?

The theory of social responsibility and ethics applies in both individual and group capacities. It should be incorporated into daily actions/decisions, particularly ones that will have an effect on other persons and/or the environment. In the larger, group capacity, a code of social responsibility and ethics is applied within said group as well as during interactions with another group or an individual.

Businesses have developed a system of social responsibility that is tailored to their company environment. If social responsibility is maintained within a company than the employees and the environment are held equal to the company’s economics. Maintaining social responsibility within a company ensures the integrity of society and the environment are protected.

Often, the ethical implications of a decision/action are overlooked for personal gain and the benefits are usually material. This frequently manifests itself in companies that attempt to cheat environmental regulations. When this happens, government interference is necessary.

Unfortunately, social responsibility and ethics are often not practiced by American companies outside of U.S. borders, which makes regulation difficult.

txt
Anny was a 9-year-old girl from the small village. She finished attending elementary school till 4th grade at her village. For 5th grade onwards, she will have to get a admission in a school at a city nearby. She got very happy knowing that she was accepted in a very reputed school in a city. Yes! Parkour is a sport, also known as freerunning is a form of improvised outdoor gymnastics. Using no equipment other than athletic shoes and a hefty dose of nerve, practitioners — called traceurs — vault over cars and brick walls, slide under park benches, and hurl themselves over natural and man-made structures, all with lightning-fast accuracy and efficiency.

Some who view Parkour might say that it is dangerous, only for those who are extremely athletic or too hard. Even though Parkour looks dangerous, traceurs practice repetitively taking each step before progressing to another, checking each landing point for safety and practicing each movement until it is as common as walking. Even though practitioners of Parkour do tend to appear to be athletic, that is because they have been Free Running for some time. Anyone can do it, everyone progresses at a different rate and at different levels. That also means that it becomes easier and much more fun.

Here is the story of Deepak who always had a thing for parkour. He started practicing parkour in his middle school taking motivation from icons like Storror. Storror is a group of seven parkour and freerunning athletes from Britain. Their skills are insanely exceptional and they are Deepak's inspiration.

He tried doing parkour, and slowly it turned into a habit. Later on, he found himself doing parkour in parks. Climbing walls, vaulting through obstacles gave him happiness which other sports failed to give. His love for parkour took him to the park almost every day. With the help of his friends, he started learning new moves like monkey vault, kong vault, speed vault and many more. The most exceptional skill is his landing, without any formal training he is able to stick his landings and he wishes to improve his form. Parkour needs strength and he chose calisthenics to build his strength. Calisthenics is a form of exercise in which their own body weight is used to build strength. And this is done with zero equipment, resulting in lean muscle and amazing strength.

Going to the college for the first time is when the young minds are away from the home and family. Here is when they wish to overjoy with their new freedom. This freedom could take them too far for partying, right from drinking alcohol, smoking to illegal drugs.

These are some of the reasons college students use drugs:

To relax

As a response to friends pressure at partying or having fun

To reduce stress, anxiety or depression

To lower inhibitions

How these drugs are portrayed to college students?

Alcohol, smoking, drug consumption is glorified in movie which features college drinking parties with alcoholic beverages, which most of the young people watch. It looks fun, and many young adults are inspired by them Some marketing campaigns are targeting this young age by featuring, good-tasting alcoholic beverages and promoting them.

What are the consequences of Getting High Instead of a Higher Education?

Loss of coordination

Increased heart rate

Higher chance of risky behavior

Traffic accidents while impaired

Poor memory functions

Slowed reaction times

Respiratory issues

Lack of motivation

How can we prevent them?

Talking to them about drug use:

It's ok if we keep our phones aside and speak to them regarding their views of drugs, what are their side effects, how to hold on not using drugs.

Teach them how to effectively deal with peer pressure, life pressures

Every one of us pretends that schooling was the best time of our lives. I know that was a bold statement to make, but read my take, and prove me wrong. Sounds challenging? read on.

In 15years of my schooling, I did things, performed in school activities, played sports. But I hardly remember any of it and this amnesia is real. There was sports day, annual day but I only have the images in my head proving the point they existed but not the memory.

The school was an arranged marriage, I didn't want to go, but I had to. So yea I had a problem with school. Let me tell you why. By law, everyone is required to go to school and almost every school followed the same structure so naturally, we think there is a logical understanding of why the schools existed the way they exist. But sadly it doesn't. In today's world, we are in a delusion that we cannot become competent individuals unless we go through those hours of traditional schooling. We blindly accept that the current schooling system is flawless without any logical reasoning or any scientific backup. It doesn't matter much, but society made a big deal out of it.

We were never given a plausible reason why we follow this education system, we know that the current education system was introduced by the Brits so that they could have translators, workers, personal assistants and to pursue their other interests. To be honest, there is nothing wrong with the students of our country, it's just the way we perceive the English culture. Anything in English is exotic for us.

We are always made belive that something English has a higher value than the rest. Just like Kohinoor, Brits do not own the education system as well. The British themselves do not have an education system, their own education system is Prussian influenced. Prussia was among the first countries in the world to introduce tax-funded and generally compulsory primary education. This education was formed from the times of wars, where discipline and obedience were given more importance rather than innovation and creativity. Everyone is made to sit in rows and columns and when the teacher arrives, the students stand in attention and are not allowed to sit until the teacher says so. We are students, not soldiers getting ready to fight a war.

It's ironic that we preach non-violence but literally for the course paved about war tactics in the name of discipline. An obedient society lays the groundwork for the repeated abuse of power and authority. It takes away the ability of society to formulate independent thought and challenge the authority of the governments. Do we perceive the government as an authority figure or servant figure? if we view the government as an authority figure then our education system has truly failed us.

To solve this, we need to begin by carefully examining and dissecting the problems that are prominent in our education system. Literally zero practical implication into whatever we are studying, the only exception would be English. Genuinely how many of us have actually learned English from school? because I learned most of my English by talking to people and from books, anime, and movies.

With the current education system, we are not taught how to run an administration but to work as trained servants. This education system was left behind after the British left, but the government was not bothered to make any modifications. We are still rewarded for giving tests where we are tested for our memory rather than innovation and creativity. We are still rewarding wrote learning and killing ambitions regularly and daily without fail.

A change either in the education system or in the perspective we see education has always proven to be beneficial. Not only to children but when an entire civilization to follow. But humans are rigid and do not like change and for the same reason, we used the same weapons, same machinery decades after decades. After the scientific revolution there was a phenomenal change in all the fields and mainly in education. Within only 500 years, which is not even 0.01% of the time humans have been on earth, we landed on the moon, created AI and cured deadly diseases.

With the education system in India, we are making students information-carrying robots with absolutely no practical knowledge and common sense. Hence we can say that we are not moving forward with our education system, and we are moving backward as time stops for none. And the whole depression thing during the education phase is another topic to discuss. And the parents who are actually worried about their image in the society by the domain their children are studying in.

At the end of the day, we are in a system where discipline and memory are given importance to education. When this system started failing tuitions started emerging, and that is also a different topic to talk about. And yes we have a solution the homeschooled children outrun their counterparts by 30%. And there is a system already in a place called Sudbury schools.

A Sudbury school is a type of school, where students have complete responsibility for their own education, and the school is run by a direct democracy in which students and staff are equal. And here entrepreneurship and business are practically taught by choice and in daily life, a school where there is a democracy, not hierarchy.

Change is needed and everyone once give it a thought, what if we were able to choose what we learn rather than follow a catalog which brings several programs.
"}]

It was raised on 15 July 1948 .The National Cadet Corps can be considered as a successor of the University Officers Training Corps (UOTC) which was established by the British in 1942. During World War ll the UOTC never came up to the expectations set by the British. This led to the idea that some better schemes should be formed, which could train more young men in a better way, even during peace times. A committee headed by Pandit H.N. Kunzru recommended a cadet organization to be established in schools and colleges at a national level. The National Cadet Corps Act was accepted by the Governor General and on 15 July 1948 the National Cadet Corps came into existence.

During the 1965 and 1971 wars with Pakistan, NCC cadets were the second line of defence. They organised camps to assist the ordinance factories, supplying arms and ammunition to the front, and also were used as patrol parties to capture the enemy paratroopers. The NCC cadets also worked hand in hand with the Civil Defence authorities and actively took part in rescue work and traffic control. After the 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pak wars the NCC syllabus was revised. Rather than just being the second line of defence, NCC syllabus laid a greater stress on developing qualities of leadership and Officer-like qualities. The military training which the NCC cadets received was reduced and greater importance was given to other areas like social service and youth-management.

NCC Organisation

The National Cadet Corpos is headed by a Director General, an Army Officer of the rank of Lieutanant General, who is responsible for the functioning of the National Cadet Corps in the country through the National Cadet Corps Headquarters situated at Delhi. G.Narayanamma bagged the girl's overall championship of JNTUH Zone 'A' inter-collegiate sports meet 2019-20 held at VNRVJIET. GNITS girls won five titles namely in Volleyball, Throw ball, Basketball, Badminton, and Table Tennis. The main reason for our success is Planning and Preparing. To accomplish any goals we need proper planning and it must be flexible also. Because we have to alter it based on the situations and surroundings. For example, if we take basketball, we play the game based on opponent teams and their strength and weak points, and we used to change our strategies based on their offenses and defenses. Whatever may be the planning or strategy, we need to have proper coordination with team members and fast recovery if any mistakes were happen

txt

From day one to end, we started our team practice daily both mornings and evenings without failure. We used to play so many practice matches and analyzing our mistakes and try to not repeat those mistakes in the next match. If we face any difficulties in match whether it may be in finals or practice, our captains Neha Varma and Padmini used to help us to overcome it. They always motivate us to play hard and tell us " if you lose any match, know your mistakes and analyze yourselves how to overcome from it." and We never bother about winning or losing because that was a by-product of preparation. Basketball is a team sport, which means it requires contribution and co-operation from every member to play well and win. Everyone must focus, work together and fulfill their roles for the common good of the team. Not only basketball, throwball, volleyball ..... every game requires proper coordination, then only we can achieve our goals. One thing, I learned from basketball is "Win more games than you lose, but accept both victory and defeat graciously. No matter what sport you play, you can't win every game. but never give up in the middle of the battle because we know how hard it takes to takes blood, sweat, and tears to win a championship.

txt
