Climate change is a serious issue, and by encouraging involvement, spreading awareness and the effort of the public, it can be tackled, fixed and eradicated. We don’t often tend to speak a lot about how climate change and global warming are caused by the production of material things. More particularly, PLASTICS.

Plastics are everywhere. It is a cheap, durable and lightweight alternative to almost everything related to the manufacturing industry. It is replacing steel and metal components in automobiles, and replacing glass in water containers etc. The emissions during manufacturing are less than a lot of other materials, but it is still a lot. Consider 500 million tons of Carbon Dioxide released every year.

Concerns get more serious as animals’ lives intervene in the long lived life cycle of plastic, marine organisms being the most affected. An estimated 400,000 marine mammals perish annually due to accumulation of plastic in oceans by either

entanglement, where it dies due to starvation or its inability to escape predators, or by ingestion, where the digestive tract or wind pipe is blocked.

Ingestion can also linger in the stomach and create this false sense of fullness that leads the animal to starve to death. Cases of this have been reported for land animals as well, where plastic is ingested, not digested and stay in the stomach for a long time. Soil also loses its fertility & this affects the economy.

One way or another, directly or indirectly, plastics affect our lives silently. Plastics find their way into every part of human life; food packaging, water bottles and containers, construction, home electrical appliances, you name it, plastic has been there. We need solutions now, before it’s too late.

Well, one possible solution is to give up plastic, but ask yourself, can you truly do that? None of us can. Another is to limit its use. Still seems like too much to give up, right? Well, we can always recycle, can’t we? That would greatly decrease the emissions released during manufacturing, but what for? There always needs to be some ’push’ factor to encourage people to do it.

That’s where our latest project comes in. Aiming to be set up in schools and parks, we want to spread awareness on the dangers of plastic, and directly encourage people to recycle plastics with our Rewarding Recycling Machine.

However, this can only be achieved with the encouragement and support of the government, and the involvement and cooperation of the society. I feel the awareness should start from schools in an encouraging, motivating & fun way. School is the best place to learn, as kids learn the habit at an early age where they can continue this habit to improve future generations.

It’s not only wildlife & marine life at stake, we are NEXT !!!

Or already we are, time to think err.. ACT !!!
"}]

Is travelling your passion? Most of us are aware of this famous quote " If travelling was free you would never see me again" But two of them has completely changed this phrase.

Meet Anuj Khurana and Ishant Kumar Singh Jadaun who travelled across India with less than a hundred rupees in their pockets.

They’ve covered almost Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmadabad, Pune, Goa, Bengaluru, Lucknow and Nainital. They hitchhike, sleep on dividers or under the bridges, eat at dabaas or sometimes even sleep there but they keep on moving!

Both of them Anuj and Ishant hadn't had any plan of travelling it was all of a sudden that they decided to explore the country without any limitations of money.

“I was cluelessly trying to fit myself into my family business, and Ishant was pursuing his graduation,” says Anuj

“Simply put, my plan was to travel across the length and breadth of this nation without money or, the constraints that it brings. I hitchhiked, borrowed, or did whatever it took to get me through another day. In the process, I aspired to spread smiles and share laughter.” says his Facebook page "Move"

Anuj and Ishant started their journey in July 2015 from Delhi to Jaipur and then back to Mumbai in the time period of their journey they met many people and most of them were very cordial to them. “People are too kind towards us,” says Anuj.

In Mumbai, they met a lot of people, most of whom helped them out with food and accommodation. “The most exciting moment was being at the police station for 18 hours, enjoying free vada pav and chai with the policemen,” he recollects.

It was in Goa that they started putting up their travel stories on social media. They gained not just popularity, but also a bunch of invites. “A lot of random Facebook people started hosting us, and in exchange all they wanted was to hear our crazy travel stories,” he says, amused.

Which is why, by the time they hit Bengaluru, they had a lot of people who wanted to meet them. So much so, they stayed there for about 25 days, enjoying the 300 invitation to meet, dine and stay

Anuj says, “The most joyful experience was to be at Bangalore International School, where we were invited to conduct an interactive session with the students and teachers about the emotion and philosophy behind our journey.”

“I did a dream ride from Manali to Ladakh in the summer of 2014 on my lovable Hero Impulse,” he added. “Till now, my favourite destinations include the Barog Railway Station located between Kasauli and Solan, which is a real hidden gem and McLeod Ganj in Dharamshala.” Looking back, he says,“We slept on the road dividers, bus-stand, Dhaba, and sometimes at friend’s places, as I’ve many friends in major cities.”

Everyone likes to play Holi-festival of colours. But,do we really know why we celebrate holi?Well, there are certain beliefs why we celebrate holi.

The first reason, there was a Demon king named ‘Hirankashyapa’ who was a hubris. He did not like his son to worship Lord Vishnu. He wanted his son Prahlada to stop worshipping and accept his father as a Supreme Lord.Prahlada did not obey his father.Vexed by this,Hiranyakashyapa ordered his slaves to burn Prahlada and his sister Holika.Prahlada was saved but, Holika was burnt to ashes. That’s how we get the ritual of ‘Holika Dahan’.

We play Holi with colours. But,did we ever know why we play with colours?.Lord Krishna played a prank with all his gopikas of playing and spraying colours. This act of spraying colours eventually became a part of the Festival.

There is another familiar story.Poonam was a witch sent by Kamsa to kill Lord Krishna.Lord Krishna who was a child won over and destroyed her.People of the village celebrated the victory of Krishna who killed a demon. It also signifies win of good over evil.

The story most of them don’t know is the story of ‘Dhundhi’.Dhundhi is an evil witch. She was given a boon by Lord Shiva .Dhundhi cannot be destroyed cold, heat and rain or nor by men. With this boon, she turned out to be malignant and dangerous. So a priest stated that she could only be killed by crazy boys. The priest ordered all the boys to collect wood and grass to set up the fire, dance, clap and sing. This made the witch die.The boys then chased the evil witch out of their village.
