Ganesh chaturthi is a Hindu festival. This festival is held on shukla chaturthi in hindu month of bhaadrapada and the festival ends on Anant chathurdasi.

This is the longest festival of all to me. when we were in schooling me and my sister used to go on our bicycle to and forth.we used to enjoy the vibe on the streets with all the the preparations going in full swing for the festival to come. One among these 10 days of festival, we take a tour to all the Ganesh pandals to enjoy the way every kid and adult participating in all the activities and smiling from ear to ear.

The home food, sweets, devotion and the special enjoyment towards this festival to me is the story behind the festival ( shri vinayaka vratha katha) since it's my turn to read the story in my home,

I request every youth to go for eco friendly Ganesh idols atleast now. even though many campaigns and awareness are been created still few are not able to make it up. some ideas for eco friendly are Clay Ganesha, Chocolate Ganesha, Gobar Ganesha, Cow dung Ganesha and many more

I wish everyone Happy Vinayaka Chathurthi

may god bless all of us with happiness, health and prosperity.
"}]

Ever since few days totto chan seemed joyous. She is on her way to new school. She got expelled from old school on note that she is disturbing whole class. Her mother surprised what would an 8 year old girl do to disturb whole class. Totto chan hardly ever been on train she was reluctant to give her precious train ticket to the ticket collector. She saw a box full of tickets with ticket collector. She ran yelling to her mother that she want to become a ticket collector so that she can hold up all those tickets. He is worshipped and remembered at the beginning of rituals and ceremonies as he's considered to be the 'remover of obstacles' he's widely and dearly referred to as ganapati or vinayaka.so we have to worshipped like a eco-friendly.ganesha never said to anyone to use plaster of Paris, we have to stop using plaster of Paris, we people to make eco-friendly ideals of Ganesha's. During childhood, every Ganesh Chathurthi I would make new friends, I would go to my colony's Ganesh idol and sit there and wait for the pooja to end, so they would start distributing sweets and prasadam. In the mean time I would go and talk to other kids and our main topic used to be, the height of Ganesha idols in the colony. And then at some point in my life, my friends and I wanted to organize Ganesh Chathurthi celebrations and went to a stationary , got a chandha(donation) book and went to some people and asked them. At that time we did not have any idea about how to do that, but just simply went to places asking people for donation, and then my saviour , my brother got into the team as we created chaos by collecting the money without any idea of the future consequences, we cant go and distribute the money to them again, so my brother took the lead and said "lets do this" and then came my father and my friend's father, they did everything and we just saw it happen and learnt a lot.
We understood marketing ,finance, accounts, and many other business aspects by just organizing a Ganesh Mandap at a young age. It still feels silly how our immature minds were provoked in organizing a Ganesh Mandap
This is my Ganesh Chathurthi memory

txt
Vinayaka Chavithi is how I've heard my favorite friend's birthday being called as, ever since my childhood. Vinayakudu, i.e. My Bojja Ganapathi (as I call him) has always been one of my go-to venting machines. ''WHY ME? GET ME OUT OF THIS MESS! WHY CAN'T YOU GET ME OUT OF THIS MESS?''- these are my trademark questions that he always answers by giving me the strength to withstand situations in which I cannot get away by punching people in their faces.

Holding grudges for long whilst giving the one on the other end a fair chance is an art I've acquired from this wise friend of mine by listening to how the moon and anybody who befriends the moon, still has to pay for the moon's sin of laughing at my stout sweetheart. Ouch. We all listen to this story every year that now we no longer know whether it's us or Ganesha who's been holding a grudge against the moon! He still gave a chance to the moon and anyone who befriends the moon for the day a way out- the Ganesh Chaturthi Pooja. See, I told y'all. Fair enough.

Every year I sit down for the Ganesh Pooja with my family and as my mother reads out all the mantras, my dad gives me ''the look,'' and the first thing I do is rush to my room to fetch the books of the subjects that I find the toughest because why not! He genuinely makes it sound easy in my head. Maybe it's all in the mind or maybe there really exists some power we call out for and pray to, either ways, all's well when the work on the mind gets done in time. Chilling all year long and getting studious right before the exam muttering every god's name under my lips is a mandatory exam ritual. Bojja Ganapathi always listens, very keenly: I know it since he's the first name I call out trusting the reputation that he's got of 'clearing hurdles.'

The best part about Vinayaka Chavithi for someone like me who cannot stand a lot of sweet to eat, is ''undaraallu.'' It's a dish made out of rice flour, served with any chutney that you personally prefer. My pick is Tomato Chutney, though. Visiting every Ganesh Mandap and judging 'em all on the basis of how good the 'prasadam' that they serve is, is my idea of self-employment (I wish someone paid me for it, though) for as long as Ganesh Maharaj enjoys all the attention! I can't wait to let myself starve all day and then hop on every Mandap for all the yummy food that I can get my hands on. It's been ages since I've went around and had my friend's share of food.

Nimarjanam is the hardest yet most satisfying part about this happy-go-lucky boy next door coming to my house because he happens to take away every bit of gloominess I have, while he leaves.

''Let's catch up, my favorite long-distant friend. I can't wait to vent all my troubles to you while you enjoy all your Modaks and your Laddoos. I just hope we all stop playing ''item songs/DJ mixes'' at your Mandaps. It's high time everyone of us realizes that you are not at all pleased with that music; like the POP idols of you weren't enough to disappoint you and mother nature together.''

Opt for Ganesh idols which can be easily dissolved and put to any other use/don't cause harm to the environment. Okay, we all love him but saying it in our own terms if not environmental- don't make it so hard for him to dissolve and leave that he just doesn't let us 'breathe' in peace.

Ganesh Chaturthi....one of the numerous festivals of the Hindu culture that lasts for upto ten days in the month of September .Everything about it was divine ,well atleast everything but the timing. In school ,it was a period of a tiny crisis for students like myself that would overestimate their efficiency when the exams were right around the corner. But fear not,I managed to have my fair share of fun over the years .

txt

As a kid, the multiple fascinating mythological movies that they played on TV during the day started a spiral of interesting thoughts that my tiny mind could conjure leaving me puzzeled ,which could only be extinguished by my grandmother's simplified versions . In the evenings, all of the kids would gather together to have a good time while the parents and the elderly immersed themselves in the strange fast paced chants delivered by the pundit which the children could never succeed in decoding . Growing up ,my concept of religion and God has taken a different direction than what my parents intended to,but I will never stop adoring festivals as they give me an excuse to see my family and the admire their faith in the almighty.

txt
You are stuck in your body until you die. What good does it do if you are mean to yourself?

Body shaming is one of the biggest problems in today’s generation. Society doesn't just find humor in degrading a woman's body; they also find humor in degrading a man's body. Body shaming has become a problem for both genders. People take their insecurities and aim them at other people to make themselves feel better about their own body. Body shaming, while common in both genders, is especially harmful to women.

Body shaming is not limited to the general public, but celebrities are often victims. Celebrities such as Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, and Jonah Hill have also been victims of body shaming by many people throughout the Internet. Comments which are aimed at insecurities are why both guys and girls have such low self-esteem. Body shaming is causing teens nowadays to be insecure. Today’s generation does not see wrong in expressing their opinion. That is true, but shutting out anyone with a different body type than them is not okay.

Body shaming is a plague of this era where people are affected psychologically that they are not able to perform daily routines like going to college. I came across an article on the internet about body shaming that said between one third and half of the young girls fear becoming fat and engage in dieting or binge eating. It also said that girls as young as five years old are worried about the way they look and their size, and one in four seven-year-old girls have tried to lose weight at least once. Also, one-third of young boys aged 8-12 are dieting to lose weight. These statistics on both men and women indicate that body shaming has the power of negative affects on someone.

People, with pure intentions of insulting someone, constantly throw around “her body is so flat,” and “He’s fat, that's ugly,” and “you need to lose weight.” Nobody chooses the body they have. Everyone is born into that body without a choice. If someone is healthy then it should not matter what they look like to anyone but their own. What is the “perfect body”? Magazines put the spotlight on thin women, and these women become the idols for girls who ruin their lives by following absurd food diets. This picture of the “perfect body” is not realistic.

Society has created this image that the “perfect body” is a body someone must have or they are browbeaten.
Having diverse body types represented in the media has proven to be a hard task and a constant battle for those who aren’t exactly a size 0. And because a lot of people live under the notion that “skinny” equates to “fit”, a lot of us are forced to prove that our broader frames are just as, if not more, healthy.

We should not be body shaming. We should be motivating, supporting, and encouraging each other. Until everyone realizes that, body shaming will continue to be an issue. Body shaming is an issue that will not be solved unless everyone learns how to accept their own body, and until magazines and social media influencers quit perpetuating this myth of a perfect body.
"}]
My earliest memory of ganesh or I fondly call him bappa go go back to when I was 10 years old. I used to wait for the whole year for ganesh chaturthi to come. My dad funnily used to make use of my excitement by letting me do the chores for the festival. I used to be up all night making garlands of flowers and mango leaves. My favorite part of the festival was when I and my grandpa used to go to the market to buy the ganesh idol. I still remember those sweet memories where I and grandpa used to come back home with the ganesh idol and the pooja samagri. I used to shout " jai bolo ganesh maharaj ki" on our way back from the market. I used to sit on my dad's lap while he used to do the pooja. Then I used to go downstairs where the colony idol was placed and helped my friends decorate the mandap. I used to sleep by the colony idol to make sure no one steals something. It was hilarious because I was just a 10 year old kid who couldn't ride a cycle but bappa gave me that courage, that confidence. I remember my mom always tells me that I got the eyes of bappa. Bappa was my inspiration during my childhood, infact he still is!. I used to gather my colony friends and I used to preach them the stories of bappa. Those were some memories. Now the times have changed but we always keep sure that no matter what, no matter how far along we are we go to our old colony and rejoice our childhood memories with bappa. Thank you!

Ganesh Chathurthi is less than 24 hours. There are trucks loaded with idols of Ganesha, Markets filled with fresh flowers, mango leaves, fruits and vegetables and tons of people demanding the best of everything they can get - believe me it's a hustle!
The next day is filled with fervor and fun - children get to play and hog on the delicious modakhs along with a wide range of savoury delicacies, all the men come together and enjoy their free time by playing Housie and all the women busy themselves with a ton of gossip and a few rounds of antakshari. Ganesh Chathurthi reunites everyone as we take up time to dedicate ourselves to the Lord and their family.

txt
rich_1567363189479

From choosing the best idol to decorating the mandap my dad and I make a perfect team. Once all the women of our neighborhood challenged all the men to make pooris as round as possible from the scratch.Late-night poojas, late-night pot lucks, never-ending DJ and the list goes on.
On the day of Ganesh immersion, we all wear white, play Holi and then perform the sacred ceremony of Ganesh immersion.
