So here's the thing, when a Jawan posts a video on facebook showing the pathetic state of food and the lack of it, in some cases, saying him and his fellow jawans go to sleep on empty stomach goes viral, why is the BSF so hell bent on character assassinating the man that has bought a potentially lethal problem to light instead of actually solving the issue?

After BSF Jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav's complaint went viral on social media, causing outrage, the home minister Rajnath Singh promised to look into the matter and solve it fairly, meanwhile the BSF itself has seen it as a blot against their honor, of sorts, and has been busy discrediting the soldier. As it stands currently, nobody knows where the man is, his wife has reported him missing since the video went viral.

Is this blatant power abuse by the BSF? As someone who hails from an army background, it is pretty much an open secret that while the officers get the crème de la crème when it comes to food, the Jawans are often given barely edible food, the kinds shown in the video by the Jawan.

Keep in mind, the BSF is not part of the army, and hence Tej Bahadur Yadav cannot be court martial-ed, but that hasn't stopped the BSF from claiming that the castle is not, in fact, on fire and that Yadav was a known alcoholic and was previously court martial-ed in 2010 after he pointed a gun at his superior. I cannot fathom why one would give an alcoholic a gun, that's like the worst thing you can do, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out that BSF's allegations are malicious and intended for character assassination using ad hominem attacks against the Jawan, instead of actually fixing the issue.

I can only hope the BJP walks the talk and looks into the matter, the BSF stops acting like a dictatorship, and that his wife hears from him soon.
"}]

In today’s education system, marks have become the one stop criteria to know a person’s knowledge and submission of assignments on time is a deciding factor of that one such students attitude. We live in a society where people call an IIT’ian a successful engineer than a one who comes out with same engineering degree from a normal engineering college! Why? Why did this discrimination come in to picture? Is it the fault of the system or is it because we lack quality education at the right time of his living, so that he can crack IIT? Well, in my perspective, I agree students fail to believe in themselves too. The present generation students are okay to call their so-called friend who is studying in IIT or any reputed institution as a global student but never consider in within that: as an individual, you’re a global student too.

Being an Engineer from a reputed national/private institution doesn’t mean they are the qualified engineers. If yes, then why on earth still this factor come up that, there are lot more suicides cases being recorded from these reputed institutions. This happens when you differentiate/discriminate the students based on their performance in the examination but not in the talent within them.

txt
rich_1483976238154

In recent trends, I’ve been occupied to watch many open diplomatic statements by enthusiasts/fellow engineers/reputed dignitaries saying: The current generation engineers lacks practical knowledge. Well, the open question they eventually fail to understand is: Are these institutions providing the students what they actually need! Are these institutions giving a chance to the students to learn the way they wanted? By the way, I’m not complaining about the system here, it is being followed since ages and now is the time to change it. But that one question always stops is how effective is this system working every now and then. Current trends prove that, an institution completes its syllabus on-time! Bang on!! From the state where I live in, most of students including me (at moments) believe in studying the day before exam with a book called All – In – One. What is point of studying an All-in-One when you’re actually wasting whole year sitting in the same class listening to the boring or disgusting by the way few creative and interesting lectures. There is two-way mistake here. It’s not just the management to be blamed, but also the students who got used to the easiest way possible to pass the examination. Because we live in a society which came to a conclusion to decide student talent by his/her marks but not with the uniqueness they have within.

But as a student we’ve always aspired to learn, but we failed because of these ruined rules of engineering currently which asks for assignments (which we curb just one hour before submission), completion of notes (just writing the same old textbook in the notes or more of a guide which speaks important points) and by mugging up the answers which ultimately killed the innovative and enthusiastic engineer in us. And finally, what comes after 4 years might surprise you. We’ve been in this for 4 years of our most precious life and what we get out of this? A certificate with the name of one within, just to get laminated in nice frame to place probably in your hall. And when these so called B. tech degree holders turn into adults complain and regret saying: I shouldn’t have choose engineering as my career. That one thing most of the engineers out there of this present generation complain is that they regret for what they got in to! A life of regret and hopelessness is easier is all that we can say!!
"}]
A racing car built by students of RVR & JC College of Engineering is all set to take part in the GoKart Design Challenge (GDC), a national level event at Coimbatore, that is being held next week. This car has been built by team Falcon Racers, led by Sri Kalyan; and will contest in various technical categories at the event. The car is powered by a 110 CC engine, similar to that of a Honda Activa and has an automatic transmission. They build the chassis out of Mild Steel. "We purchased the engine from Indian Society of New Era Engineers (ISNEE) and built the chassis by ourselves. A Feast for Vultures is a difficult read to digest, mostly because it reveals to us the depths of corruption, casteism, and apathy that exists in India. Written by award winning investigative journalist Josy Joseph, the book takes us right from the small villages of the country to the big movers and shakers in Delhi.

Joseph's meticulous research rewards the readers with a rich and detailed look into the general apathy of the people of this country, from Bolero Sarpanchs in villages, their purses being bolstered by their sudden government job and power, to middle men in towns that control everything, from who gets what crop to grow, to facilitate weddings, set up bribes, to the elites of Delhi and Mumbai, a particular airliner being named (and they've been fighting a court war with Joseph over this now, whether this lends credence to what he wrote or not, you decide), he names all and cuts into their secrets, often open and talked about over chai and samosa, but never confirmed. His award winning style of investigative journalism is a bonus here, with enough references for you to corroborate the story for yourself.

While the name of the book can confuse you with its similarity to A Song of Ice and Fire series, rest assured that the politics in this book is darker than the what you'll find in a G.R.R. Martin book. In an age when journalists hired by media houses in big cities are actively discouraged from venturing outside urban decay, Joseph travels to towns around Delhi, and states hundreds of kilometers away to gather his stories, speak about atrocities against Mahadalits and manages to maintain the pace while talking about the high end gyms of Delhi where the rich and elite go to let off steam and workout, and where their lawyers and those who want to rub shoulders with the country's elite have to pay through their nose, all for a chance to be a vulture in hopes of being invited to a feast.

A Feast for Vultures is India you've always heard about, but never actually had any proof or any place to confirm your suspicions. This is a book full of open secrets, backed with solid investigative journalism that give these secrets a solid ground to stand on. If you are interested in what goes on behind the scenes in India, this book is a must read, Joseph's journalism is proof that governments may change but its the people that have to change first. Every great artist has turmoil in their life that makes them channel their creative energies into art, Roll Rida is another example of this. "I had a crush on a girl who was into rap, this was back when we were in Intermediate. I had no idea what rap meant, it was a brand new experience", he laughs, "One of the first songs I heard was Papercut by Linkin Park, and I liked it so much that I decided to learn it. Of course, back then it was about impressing a girl, today, it's part of who I am."

Roll Rida released his new song, Katiff on the 6th of January, the video has already been viewed over 50000 times, and we can confirm that it has catchy lyrics and music.

"Like how Eminem found his Dr. Dre, I found Kamran," Roll Rida says, speaking about the composer for his catch songs, "there was no looking back after that."

"Katiff is a song about the daily happenings in an average middle class boy's life. You wake up in the morning, you go through the day, and often it doesn't go the way you want it to go, that's what katiff is here, when something fails on you, that something has gone Katiff on you," he says, speaking about the song, "from sunrise to sunset, from the moment a guy wakes up to the moment he sleeps, the inspiration for this song came from observing the daily life of myself and the people around me."

Roll Rida has certainly come a long way, from being a part of a rock band back in college, to forming his own rap crew, to being featured on VH1, and then finally breaking into the Telugu rap scene, "I had a thought one day, why not rap in Telugu?," he says, "we started work on it and today our song, Patang, has hit 4 million views on YouTube, and that right there feels amazing."

Breaking into a scene that did not exist until Roll Rida made it popular wasn't easy, but if anything, this is an inspiration for students to chase their dreams and to not compromise on their goals. From all of us here at stuMagz, we wish Roll Rida all the best for the future.
