Some people are so poor, so poor, so absolutely poor that all they have is only money. If you want to truly know how rich and wealthy you are then drop a tear and see how many hands actually come forth to wipe those tears. Our true wealth, our true richness is people. Our connection with people, our inter-personal relationship with people is more important than money and that's why it's often said that OUR NET WORTH IS EQUAL TO OUR NETWORK.

The relationship between happiness and money only holds for a certain kind of happiness. Researches suggests that wealth alone doesn't provide guarantee for a good life. It's amazing how money can be known by so many different ways

In a temple, church or charity it's called donation.

In a school it's called a fee.

In a marriage it's called dowry.

In a divorce it's called alimony.

When you owe money to someone, it's called a debt.

When you pay money to government, it's called tax.

When you receive it regularly after retirement, it's called a pension.

When an employer gives it to worker, it's called a salary.

When a master gives it to a servant, it's called a wage.

When children receive it from parents, it's called an allowance.

When you borrow it from a bank, it's called a loan.

When you offer after a good service, it's called a tip.

When paid to a kidnapper, it's called as ransom.

When illegally received in the name of service, it's called the bribe.

and when used to SHARE AND SERVE OTHERS, it's called HAPPINESS.

There is nothing wrong in possessing money the problem is when money possesses you. Happiness is a small feeling. However, the feeling is deep, mystic, pure and infinite. Equating it with money is ridiculous We need love, appreciation and care to lead life happily.

We need money. But, can it buy happiness ? I don't think so.

Therefore, earn more money, fulfil your needs, utilise your money to share and serve others and transform your value of money from CURRENCY to HAPPINESS.

Let’s take this straight, you might already be baffled by reading the title and so was the case with me when I first came to know about it. There are groups of societies across the world that believe that the Earth is flat…doesn’t that sound crazy? So, let’s know a bit about these societies.

The flat earth societies are a typical group of people who simply believe that the earth is flat. These societies and beliefs of this kind are not new to the world. It was a common belief back then, although people like Pythagoras and Aristotle drawn decent conclusions which reveal that the Earth is a Sphere unlike the popular belief that it is flat, people never tend to believe them. It was all religion which was superior to science back then and as the religion stated, people believed that the Earth is flat. But, as years passed by and science gradually took pace, some greatest minds of all time started to prove the Earth is a Sphere quite convincingly. This made the Flat Earth believers a bunch of jerks. Now, we certainly believe that the Earth is a Sphere (precisely, it’s an Oblate spheroid) from our advanced tech and data from our satellites. The Flat Earth theorists didn’t give up, the thing is they propose that every scientific detail and evidence that proves the Earth is not flat is a hoax and they make up their own theories to support their ideas. But, every time they are proved wrong, they come up with yet another theory. Their power lies in being vague. To take it to a new level on our weird scale, they now showcase their theories on popular social media stages and draw a good number of supporters. The people who believe this are growing yearly and that’s an issue of concern as the voice of criticism on science becomes louder and louder.

Described by many as ‘one of the greatest filmmakers to have ever lived’, Quentin Tarantino is truly an epitome of bold and fearless filmmaking. Films like Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs have changed the very perception of independent filmmaking. Tarantino’s films depict nonlinear story lines with huge emphasis on dialogues, coupled with violence and ensemble casts, usually comprised of lesser known actors and actresses, at least in his earlier films. Tarantino often makes fantastic references to pop culture in his films, and deeply explores the darker side of human nature. No wonder his films consist of scenes with terrific dark humour.

One has to agree that Quentin Tarantino is on another level of movie buffs. He never attended film school, and worked in video parlours in his younger years. Even then his knowledge about movies was astounding as reported by some. Tarantino perfectly puts his knowledge to good use in his films and creates some scenes which are jaw dropping, Consider a movie like Pulp Fiction. Some people after seeing the movie were left dumbfounded. Almost all were asking each other what ‘mess had they just seen?’ But as one examines the plot and writing done for Pulp Fiction, it only reveals the genius called Tarantino. He has perfectly created characters with deep psychological, dark and humorous secrets, and then dedicates each scene to one or more of them. The movie ends exactly where it started, unfolding many great concepts and stories on the way.

People who have watched all his movies may realize that Tarantino started out with crime comedy films, but has also gradually ventured out to concern some of his future films with other events or topics like Nazism or Slavery. The results as usual, have turned out be some of the greatest films ever made, such as Inglorious Bastards or Django Unchained. There are lot of people out there who do not agree with his style of filmmaking, but eventually one has to ponder over the fact he has in fact changed the very perception of watching movies. He often states that he is going to retire soon, but one wonders if someone in future could even be a fraction of the filmmaker he is.

Gender Sensitization Committee Against Sexual Harassment [GSCASH]. As a student representator and serving one year in University of Hyderabad, let’s us know the basics about what is sexual harassment, and what not to do if one goes though such abuses.

What is sexual harassment?

Includes any unwelcome behaviour such as

• Physical contact and advances

• Demand or request for sexual favours

• Sexually coloured remarks

• Unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conducts of sexual nature

• UNWELCOME is the key in defining sexual harassment.
It is the effect on the recipient that will define the behaviour as sexual harassment
Common Examples of Harassment

• Irritating comments on physical appearance

• Stalking

• Staring in an unwelcome way

• Touching without permission, whistling etc.
Or sending unwelcome content on

• Email, phone calls, sms, facebook

• Showing pornography
Pressuring into unwanted relationships

What not to do?

• Do not blame yourself. Sexual harassment is not something one brings on oneself. It is not a consequence of certain ways of dressing or acting. It is a violation of an individual’s right to work and live with dignity.

• Do not ignore it. Ignoring sexual harassment does not make it go away. The harasser may misinterpret a lack of response as approval of the behaviour.

• Do not delay. Delay in action increases the probability that unwanted behaviour will continue or escalate.

• Do not hesitate to ask for help. Speaking up may also prevent others from being harmed.

SAY NO TO SEXUAL HARASSMENT. IT’S NOT ABOUT YOU, IT’S THEM.

Yes they help us in getting admitted to good college but they don't decide our career. We are always under that pressure either from school, or from parents , or from society -if you dont perform well in exams and don't get good marks , you are going to end your career. Under this pressure we study till late nights and try to score good. But is it fruitful ?

It is not that schools don't see betterment of students.Schools take exams just to check student's knowledge , they want students to study deeply and come to know something new. The current results of the Assembly elections in Karnataka is nothing out of the blue. The new government was bound to be an alliance between two parties but what is surprising is the recent turn of events after the results were announced. Certain new developments indicate towards the poor orchestration in Indian politics which is increasingly becoming apparent.

As counting was underway on 15th May, BJP had taken a lead in 118 seats. Celebrations had already started the BJP State and National Headquarters. But gradually, the Congress and JD(S) picked up their pace and as the day ended, BJP fell short of the majority mark by a few seats. Congress won 78 seats while the JD(S) trailed far behind at 37. But, the Congress was quick in it's actions this time and offered the post of CM to the JD(S). They had already announced that a Dalit would be the CM if JD(S) forms an alliance with them. All these events indicate towards nothing but the desperation of the Congress to hold power. They have proved there is no permanent friend or enemy in Indian Politics. The JD(S) and Congress had fallen out of agreement in the past, with a similar case with BJP and JD(S) as well. But when it comes to holding power, no pride or prestige holds any importance in India. The Congress once again took advantage of caste politics as it has throughout it's history.

One cannot rule out the master strategist Amit Shah as yet. The BJP supposedly has taken advantage of it;s brute power and offered 100 crore each to a few MLAs of the Congress and JD(S). The Congress acted swiftly on this new development and sent some of their MLAs packing to a posh 5 Star resort, paying for all their expenses but preventing them from interacting with anyone. Is this some kind of joke, where kids don't let their friends meet anyone else due to the fear of losing them. Politicians are running amock, the media is going berserk, and the general public is kept in the dark. One wonders how long this mess is going to continue.

Update: The Honorable Governor of Karnataka Shri Vajubhai Vala has invited Shri Yeddyurappa to form the government and has given him 15 days time. This is expected as Shri Vala is an old hand of Modi and has been an active member of BJP since decades. The Congress has stated it would move the Supreme Court if needed. Lets see where this drama eventually unfolds.

India after Gandhi is a magnificently told history of the world’s largest democracy, which has crafted the insightful and spirited account of India since 1947.
The book captures India’s 60 years of history with various events that took place after independence.

The emergence of some interesting events such as the Kashmir problem, North-East problem, the wars the revolts etc where the incorporation of the princely states the British India has been ignorant and there was a political breakdown between the Muslim league and the congress party which led to the partition of the Muslim league. Guha attributes to the four major factors like caste, class, religion and language that gave rise to many other problems like untouchability, riots etc. The constitution giving the recommendation for the reservation for the untouchables which led to a very horrible discrimination among where it was Gandhi who himself made the new terms for the ‘Untouchables’ which was ‘Harijans’ or ‘children of God’ which were later known as Dalits and the Scheduled Castes. The condition worsens up for them as the constitutional assurance that was given to them was reinforced by the different government from time to time. The makers of the country have equality in the government but not in the society. M.N.Srinivas then went on to show how Indian politics was shot through with caste rivalries in which he refers to the different castes of different places like in Andhra Pradesh the kammas, in Mysore, in Maharashtra and Madras the political conflict between Brahmin and the non-Brahmin, in Bihar the Bhumihars and Rajputs in Uttar Pradesh the tussle between the Rajputs and Chamars where the caste system was by no means unaffected by the economic and social changes unleashed by Independence. The Dalits problem was a severe one because there has not been a working-class women functioning with the government and in other countries the Dalits were also given the same importance. With B R Ambedkar Dalits now know that they have a place in the constitution and wherever there was Dalits Ambedkar was being remembered and worshiped.

Guha also questioned the growth of regional parties and the populist policies that has weakened India. The book also talks about the museum of Sikh history to see the ennobling Indira Gandhi killers. The Babri Masjid controversy which led to numerous inter-religious riots. The linguist movement in pre independence era which led to the creation of linguist province in free India. The book is a celebration to the survival of Indian nation for all the riots and the events India would have been able to survive as a country with a relatively stable democracy without sinking into chaos.

India is the only democracy where the lower orders vote more enthusiastically than the privileged groups and considering the size of electorate in India people vote more in India’s election than in any other country. India’s nationalism has not only been based on language, religion etc but India emerged as a nation on the world stage without an armed conflict or the threat of one.
