Each of us wants to grow and achieve something. We celebrate great careers, successful relationships, and those who admire our journey. We've always been taught to dream big.

The process of becoming the best version of yourself is never easy.

There are ups and downs, joys and sorrows, and sometimes days when you give up completely. No matter how passionate you are, sometimes things go wrong and you question everything.

But at that moment we focus on our ultimate goal. Suddenly it seems so vast and impossible like everything is trying to prevent you from getting there. That's why it's important to learn to enjoy the process.

We are so busy trying to reach our goals and achieve them that we completely miss the small good things that happen on a daily basis. At every stage of our journey, it's important to celebrate small achievements.

Even when you're passionate about something, there are moments when you feel unmotivated, but often it's not because you're not putting in the effort or working hard enough, but rather taking a break and slowing down and trying again. This is because it needs time to recharge.

If you don't take a pause, your passion will be annihilated. Taking a break is more important. This does not mean that we have failed to build consistent momentum.

We all need a break to recover and come back with enough energy. Seeing it as part of the journey and enjoying the moment makes the whole process fun and enjoyable and doesn't seem like a chore.

We usually put our happiness off into the future, believing that our happiness lies in getting so-and-so work done. But let me tell you, the right time will never come until you let it.

If you want to live a thriving and cheering life, you need to stop putting happiness and joy into the future and start loving the process.
"}]

Instead of chasing happiness, everyone today is chasing perfection.

We associate being happy with being perfect. What we do not understand is that in our drive to perfection we never allow ourselves to be content, to enjoy the things that actually give us joy. We knowingly or unknowingly, create a chasm between ourselves and our happiness.

txt
rich_1664355636207

No one in this world is perfect. Being flawed, having imperfections is a part of everyone's life. Instead of trying to mould ourselves according to other people's expectations, we must find those who embrace us even though we might be flawed.

txt
rich_1664355636208

“Tell me about yourself” is the one question often asked in an interview as I consider myself somewhat knowledgeable about the interview, as I come across many during my drives from the past semester.

And every interviewer asked it without exception. And this was the case for any person who appeared for an interview. What makes giving a self-introduction so important? Self-intro is through which we introduce ourselves to the panel or the interviewer. It seems vague, but that is what self-intro is in its entirety. And it also plays in setting the motion for the interview.

Suppose in the resume you provided who domains you are working on, but in actuality, you are not confident in some of those. So, what to do? In your introduction, mention a project you are working on in the domain you are optimistic about. And accentuate your passion for that domain and exaggerate it as much as possible. This way, one can induce the panellists or interviewer to the path the interviewee is confident about.

A good self-introduction sets the tone of the interview as well as provides an insight to the interviewer about oneself. But duds in self-intro can prove disastrous as creating the first impression is the cornerstone for an interview.

What makes a good self-intro? A concise briefing about oneself in a confident manner touches every aspect of your resume and provides more info. Let me elaborate on what I said. A self-introduction has to be delivered confidently and has to provide more about oneself. One shouldn’t recite what was already mentioned in the resume as a self-intro as it makes you look as unprepared. One has to prepare what to say for a self-intro before appearing in an interview and practice it many times to avoid forgetting it under pressure.

Avoid saying what is present in the resume as it is try to elaborate on them if possible if not avoid it entirely. Don’t spend much time telling about your education, try to keep it short. Give a concise statement about your achievements and elaborate on achievements or projects which coincide with the job profile. To make an impression that — you are one asset they shouldn’t miss. Be as presentable as you can be with the tone of your voice without any stuttering. Tell the interviewer about your strengths and weaknesses. The strength should be that which is useful for the job profile. One doesn’t have any problem selecting the strength but the issue arises in selecting a weakness. Because the weakness should be in a way that a positive outlook can be derived from it. For example, “ I get nervous when I am under a time crunch, but for good or worst I get more motivated to complete the work on time.” And one thing to remember when selecting a weakness is that the positive outlook to be provided should not contradict the weakness but enhance it as a cornerstone of one’s personality.

So, I hope this helps everyone who is reading in creating a good self-introduction.

"}]

Try to promptly respond to their request for recommendations or endorsements if they make one. Your relationship should be strengthened as a result, and new chances may arise.

What is the comfort zone?

We heard this word called the comfort zone a lot of times. And, people often say "get out of your comfort zone". So, what exactly is this comfort zone? I would like to define it as a circle of

effortlessness.

Okay, let's imagine you are standing in a blank space. And, there's a circle around you colored in green and, the region outside this circle is in red. All the things which are easy to do, don't require second thoughts i.e. effortless and you can do these with your eyes closed. For example, brushing your teeth in the morning, I don't think we have second thoughts for this. As soon as you wake up, you leave your bed and grab a brush and toothpaste. Obvious! But, what if I ask you to meditate in the morning. Your first question will be "But, why?". See, second thoughts.

Does it mean out of comfort zone = good for us?

Well, there's no one-on-one relationship between doing something out of the comfort zone and it being a productive task. For example, running is something out of our comfort zone and is good for health. On the other hand, walking is inside our comfort zone and still good for us. And, it's the same another way around if you are a smoker then it will be easy for you to smoke because it's inside your comfort zone but not good for you. But if you are a non-smoker and someone asks you to try it, you are gonna have a hard time over there, definitely not good for you. Boom! There's no relation between something which is out of your comfort zone, and it is good for you.

If there's no relation between them then why do I need to leave my comfort zone?

Because the comfort zone shrinks over time. How? So, in the month of the march, I used to go running at 5 in the morning with my dad. After few days dad left for some work and I was alone but I didn't stop because I did it for a prolonged period and now it was a habit. But unfortunately, due to exams I stopped going out. Eventually, I stopped running and loved staying indoors. When the quarantine started, it was a great opportunity to go out for running. But as of now, waking up at 9 for online classes is a huge task for me and fails to do it at times.

So, did you see what happened? Just because I stopped doing a particular task that was out of my comfort zone, my zone shrunk over time. Now, even waking up at 5 is a huge thing because I go to bed at 4.

So, now you know why do you need to keep doing things around your comfort zone. Yes, I said around because going too far from your comfort zone can backfire( an article on this topic coming soon). So, you keep increasing the area of your comfort zone and keep growing.

Will we back with another great article.

Till then wash your hands, don't go out until it's urgent. Stay safe, stay healthy.

"Networking is not about just connecting people. It's about connecting people with people, people with ideas, and people with opportunities." -- Michele Jennae.

Your professional network can be useful in many facets of your job. The most obvious manner is by giving out leads for potential new jobs. Having a professional network also has the following advantages:

1. Finding out about a job opening

Your professional network can help you find a new job if you're looking to leave your current one or have already quit and are looking. The people in your network can advise you of any job openings in your sector that they are aware of and can equip you with any pertinent corporate knowledge.

3. The Reciprocity Rule

In its most basic form, professional networking is about sharing and mutual assistance. If you give someone advice or create a beneficial introduction for them, they are much more likely to do the same for you in return. Social psychologists refer to this behaviour as The Law of Reciprocity.

Therefore, the more you can do to support your connections in achieving their objectives, the more they will want to do the same for you.

4. New Perspective and Ideas

Networking gives you fresh insights and ideas that can help you advance in your profession - it gives you viewpoints and ideas that you may not have considered previously. It's also extremely helpful to speak with folks who operate in fields other than yours because they can bring whole new views.

5. Suggestions and Assistance from others

You shouldn't only network if you're seeking a new job or for personal benefit. The goal of networking professionally is to find like-minded individuals and develop meaningful connections with them. This might help you create a network of allies that will be beneficial to you in your profession. Whether it's about a specific work issue or your own professional development, our network can provide you with advice.

Regardless of where you are in your career or what stage you are at, networking will be beneficial to you. Make sure you stay in touch with your network on a regular basis, even if it's just to send a quick email or a WhatsApp message to see how they are.

As a network is more of a long-term endeavour, it is impossible to predict when it may lead to an opportunity, but it is never too late to begin establishing one.
"}]
