The life of an introvert is tough, confined to a place, creating vivid imaginations and making them become reality is what they do most of the time.

Here is one such story of a student Sai Nikhil, pursuing his B.Tech at CMR Institute of Technology. Sai is always fond of tech-related stuff, he spends most of his time surfing what’s new happening around the globe. Sai realised that nothing would fetch him if he isn't talking to anyone. He thought that exploring the outer world would help him gain confidence and knowledge. He worked as a volunteer for Street Cause CMRIT and helped his team support needy people.

He is always there to help his fellow mates and his juniors by providing resources regarding learning any technology, participating in events, etc.

Let us know more about him…

How does college help to develop skills?

In our college, we have a TESI(Technology Exploration and Social Innovation) lab. In which we are informed to find out the problems in our society and discuss possible solutions for them. This helped me in improving my innovative thinking skills. - says Sai.
And our respective faculty would suggest courses and lectures apart from academics and also guide us in that. Our communication lab improved our confidence in speaking and facing stage fears.- adds Sai.

Besides academics what are your achievements?

I participated in the Indian Army Cyber Security Hackathon named Sainya Ranakshetram and reached up to Round II in it. I have learned Windows and Linux Server Administration.
Practically implemented basic Carding and Cracking of OTT platform accounts.

Heard that you help your juniors and co-mates by providing proper resources to learn new skills, what lies the motive to do so?

I always share my knowledge with others since I believe that "Knowledge improves by Sharing, not by Saving".
That's the reason I always share the knowledge I gained, resources found, and events participated in so that somehow it helps them in improving their skillset. I feel happy and excited when I am explaining/suggesting something to others. Contributing to the community is always a good thing.

How an introvert like you, turned out to be one leading your juniors?

In the first year of my Btech, I used to fear talking about something to others or asking doubts during lectures in front of everyone. Later I understood the importance of communication skills, and the vital role it plays and worked hard to horn my skills. Slowly I kept on improving myself and overcame my stage fear. After the lockdown, a few juniors approached me regarding suggestions for courses. By speaking to them I improved my social speaking skills.
Gradually speaking to other juniors, and giving seminars, and presentations have improved my speaking skills.

You all might have the same fears, and insecurities at the beginning, but realising what you lack and putting effort to gain them makes you shine. Hope this story made you learn something, see you in another story with some life-changing insights.

"}]

It is a very known fact that the mind grasps information through vision more than audio and there is no better way to communicate feelings than images. And that is what is done by our very own K Madhan Sesha Sai AKA Madhu. Currently pursuing his undergraduate in IT from Sreenidhi Institute of Technology, Hyderabad. He is a passionate photographer and admires photography. Madhu is currently heading the CICC CLUB in his college.

Not only is he into photography but Madhu takes interest in a lot of other activities like playing cricket, volleyball, chess, carrom and badminton. He is also a pet lover and has 2 pug dogs. He calls Tyson & Hachiko and he says he intends to have a husky & golden retriever.

What inspired you to do photography/ Videography

When asked about what inspired him to start and take up his passion as photography, Madhu stated that “Photography is a form of art. Photographs allow us to share our experiences with others. What better way to share your vacation than with precious beach photos? A picture is said to be worth a thousand words. Photography conveys emotion, tells a story, and captures the personalities of family members. As a photographer, I recognise the artistic value of photography. Photography allows us to express ourselves and bring out the beauty around us. We get to capture one's love, beauty, and story. As a result, I will be eternally grateful. I notice the smallest details. The details are what tie an experience together. Textures, nature, light, expressions, and surroundings all catch my eye. Photography is an excellent way to document significant events. Life is full of surprises.”

What is the one thing you wish you knew before you started photography?

The most important thing in his eyes and something that he wished he knew before he started his career in photography was learning the manual mode. He said that when he first picked up the camera, he set it on auto mode and started shooting right away. But moving further in his journey he realised that using auto mode only limited his ability and usage of his camera. He said “Manual mode will give me full creative control of my photos. So that I’ll be able to get my camera to do things that I've always wanted it to do. Learning to adjust my ISO, aperture and shutter speed will allow me to achieve the best possible photos that I can!”

How did your journey in photography/ Videography go?

Madhu’s journey in photography started in the year 2019 with a beautiful self-portrait in the sunset. And ever since then he has always kept creating photographs for fun and for people who want to preserve their memories forever.

Every journey has its own ups and downs and madhu faced his own set of challenges too. But through all of it. He has met some amazing people who are similarly passionate about photography just like him. This journey had opened doors to new friends who were interested in capturing images from different perspectives for him.

Madhu also said that “Camera is the only object that each and every person smile at. So i don't wanna miss that smile on people's faces. Almost every event in my college is covered by me & my team. I just don’t wanna leave the single thing in my college and make sure to get a storytelling photograph and Cinematography.”

What gear do you use?

When asked about the gear that he currently uses, he gave us a list of essentials that he owns as part of his journey. Namely the gears that he uses range from basic to advance cameras like canon 1500d to canon 5d mark 4. He also uses camera brands like Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon and sony. His main lens Kit includes rime lens, kit lens (18mm-55mm), macro ,wide lens and a telephoto zoom lens.

And not to forget the memory cards and extra batteries. Madhu makes sure to also carry a microphone in case it is necessary. Some of the other gear that he carries with him are a UV filter, DJI Gimbal, LED ring lights, a Laptop - To save data, and edit the captured pictures, a Hard Disk and SDD and a very handy good camera phone.

I hope you loved the journey of this hardworking and lovely photographer who strives to show the world his perspective. And finally, Madhu does not believes that “Practice makes man perfect” but rather “Practice with perfection makes a man perfect”.
"}]
There are many true stories out there to motivate us. The person in that story faces hardships recovers from them and emerges as a victor in life. So we are here to share the story of one such individual.

This is the story of Hymashree, a B.Com Computers student from Bhavans Vivekananda College. When we realize that our wish and passion are totally different, our journey of success begins.

So, can you tell us about the dream you had and the biggest decision you took and why?

I wanted to become a doctor. It fascinated me a lot. With a strong will and determination, I worked hard but maybe not enough to get into a medical college. And maybe there's something else written on my fate—that's okay I can't dwell on the past and regret it... So, with full enthusiasm and a new ray of hope, I enrolled in an engineering college, to pursue B Pharmacy. I had very nice expectations but on the contrary, I've had the worst experience ever teaching wasn't good, the people around were quite different, and sooner or later, I got a very clear clarity that, if I continue I'm sure I'll end up with just a degree paper and definite unemployment and zero knowledge . As said, I always dreamt of a successful career, so I didn't want to risk my career...With a strong gut feeling and self-belief, I took an extreme step and you know what it is, I've decided to discontinue and I did..!!

So, you dropped out…Then what followed it, can you tell us?

It was in the year 2019 and one of the toughest years for me, filled with extreme pain and sadness, it had a disastrous toll on my mental health. People started pointing me out. Everyone had a bad impression. They thought I was incapable of studying and fit for nothing. I was almost into depression and started doubting my capabilities and decision. At that point, my inferiorities were stronger than my dreams and ambitions I was clueless about my career.

That is a tough situation to be in…So, how you overcame it?

There were times I skipped family functions. I never stepped out of my home for almost 6 months because, if some XYZ stranger asks me what I'm studying I've no answer for that question. I had many sleepless nights...crying in a dark room. I was really at my low point. That's when my brother came, he motivated me, he just said one sentence that hit me hard "when we fail, people do make fun of us, but crying is not the solution. That surely deserves applause, to overcome a situation like that is not at all easy and kudos to your brother. But when you can try many paths why did you choose commerce? And how it turned out?

Commerce is one such course that is open to everyone and has a plethora of career opportunities. With my cousin's help, I enquired more, and then I decided to switch to commence. With the help of some friends, I finally made up my mind to pursue B.com computers.

A few tried to divert my mind to get into Some ordinary college and pursue some normal courses. I thank my friend Kartik Kaveti for guiding me in the right way. I would have got influenced by their words, if not for him. He saved me, or else I'd have witnessed 3rd failure if he hadn't guided me that day, that one phone call changed my life.

Thank you is a small word maybe.

And yes, the most awaited moment, I've cleared my College interview and got an admit to BVC (my dream college - considering the standards and placement of opportunities)

As always, my best friend is always by my side and - he always advised me to be active in class, manage extra-curricular and academics, and equally. Those good words were running through my mind all the time. And I was super excited to start a new phase of my life with double enthusiasm.

That’s wonderful to hear so how was college life turned out?

So it was day one of college, and I was a bit timid and inferior. One mam (Mrs Leena ) helped me to regain my lost confidence and public speaking skills. She has given me all the possible opportunities which helped me regain my lost confidence. She was my first angel and is the 2nd one is my tuition teacher who taught me all the basics of accounting — "a little extra effort would fetch us the best results". As days passed on, my first semester results were out. I was astonished after viewing my results, forget good grades, dude! I topped the class, all Thanks to ma'am. With the same spirit and motivation, I was always active in co-curricular activities and did tremendously well in academics as well. So well that I even topped the entire commerce department.

Imagine a non-commerce student topping the entire department. Added many feathers to my hat, one after the other. NSS subhead, college magazine editor, and the list goes on. It was beautiful and hard at times.

A few relationships were bitter and a few were sweet and a few of them are super strong right from day one. And my college life was more like an emotional rollercoaster lot of ups and downs yet thrilling.

But in a blink of an eye, it's already 5th semester. And I started seriously preparing for my campus placements.

Hoo…That’s truly a beautiful time I can imagine it. But to make everyone who degraded you shut their mouths placement is a must, right? So, can you tell us how it went?

There was a huge competition, the Big 4's are all ready to hire. The opportunity once lost is lost a constant fear in everyone's head. And I wanted to make the most of it.

One among the big 4, has come to recruit us, that was my first-ever interview in life. Everyone believed we should give our best and leave the rest. I did the same. I gave my best shot . . . . And I cracked it . Yes! I did it..!!!! Felt like shooting loud but ended up crying, tears of happiness and joy were rolling down my cheeks. Most precious day of my life and I can never forget it. I got placed and top it off in one of the Big 4. Bought back my lost respect. All those fingers that pointed me out, congratulated me on my success. The same mouths which made fun of me praised me .What else do I have to prove?

A happy end for a journey or should I say a new beginning. So, what you wanna say now that you achieved your respect back?

Yes, my brother was right. No matter how difficult the situation is, no matter how much people criticize us, crying is never the solution, hard work, and proving to them that they're wrong is the best revenge ever .
And whatever happens in our life is always for our good, maybe better opportunities are waiting for us out there. Keep working and never lose hope maybe we could change the path, but I learned this, we must never take critics to heart and praises to head.

This is just a starting and baby step in my life. A lot more to do and a lot more to achieve. And I'm forever grateful to my family friends and my teachers. It's all because of their support.

Whatever the case, I never lost hope. I tried and I'll keep trying until I achieve my goal. Thank you is what I can say to all the people who were there and not there by me and in this journey says Hymashree.

"}]

Do you know about the person who said this?

Yes!! You are right he is Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam, most of us get motivated by just hearing his name. Kalam Ji was called India's Biggest Failure:

He actually wanted to become a fighter Pilot, he even attempted an exam where there were only 8 seats and he got 9th rank. So, he failed to become a fighter Pilot, and a year later he was appointed head scientist of SLV 3 Satellite Launch Vehicle. It is an important project for ISRO. This project proves to the world that India can also launch satellites to orbit, but the satellite that was supposed to reach the orbit drowned in the Bay of Bengal. Kalam was responsible for this launch because right before the launch time the computer had warned him that something was wrong but he took a risk. But he didn’t stop there and a year later he attempted the launch again and this time he succeeded and “Today, we see him as our HERO”
Even when he failed a hundred times he had the courage to try for the 101st time.

Art is how we decorate space; Music is how we decorate time.

From being reluctant to attend music classes to finding her passion for music… Here’s the story of an obstinate individual- Srija Kommajosyula, a final-year graduate from St.Mary’s College.

It all started when she was 5 years old when she had begun her music journey but yeah! It wasn’t exactly that time when she realised music would be her main string. Srija’s talent was in fact first recognized by her parents who made her attend music classes when she was young. In a course of time, Srija started loving music, adorned the relaxation it gave her and admired the beauty of nature’s notes.

Balancing both sides of an equation-

There is a saying that stories teach us the way of life. How many agree with that, I don’t know, but I agree with it. Everyone grows up listening to stories that leave a lasting impression on them. We may forget the story, but we never forget the feeling we felt.

And these feelings make up our character no matter how trivial the story may be, but to some, it’s their core of living. With every passing generation, new modes of storytelling came into existence existing ones evolved. Movies have been a long-standing mode of storytelling. Many of them are commercialised but have not fallen in delivering the intent. What one takes from a movie is purely subjective—some may take inspiration, some find love, and some find nothing.

So, here are some movie recommendations which I enjoyed watching and got something from it. I am not going to disclose what I gained—I want to keep it as subjective as possible to the ones who will watch it in the future. Even if you have not felt anything, it doesn’t matter unless you thought it was a waste of time. So give it a try in your free time—I assure you it will not be a waste of time.

Lucy––It is a sci-fi film starring Scarlett Johansson in the main role and many others in key roles like Morgan Freeman. The main character is named Lucy, contrasting the first found female specimen of the hominin species which is also named Lucy, as the main character also becomes the first being to tap into the full potential of the human brain. The plot follows like this—Lucy winds up being a drug mule due to her boyfriend’s trick and something happens and the drug enters her system she gets heightened physical and medical abilities and goes on to retrieve the drugs from other drug mules to stop the disintegration of her body. And at the end of the movie, she becomes omnipresent.

The Founder—it is about the businessman Ray Kroc, and his story about the creation of the fast-food restaurant chain McDonald’s which also involves forcing the original owners of the restaurant out of the company.

The Social Network—is the adaptation of the book The Accidental Billionaires. The movie follows the story of Marc Zuckerberg during the creation of Facebook and the following lawsuits it faced. It is a 2010 film which critically and commercially acclaimed and even the real Mark Zuckerberg commented it was mostly fictional and he liked it.

Top Gun: Maverick—it is one of the recent films I watched and thoroughly enjoyed. It came as a sequel to the 1986 movie Top Gun starring Tom Cruise. It follows Pete "Maverick" Mitchell who has to train the elite group of Top Gun graduates for a mission to save his Darkstar program from cancellation and how the mission went.

So these are the films I watched and thoroughly enjoyed, forgive me if there are misinterpretations of the story as I watched them way back. In hopes that the readers will watch them, I take a leave.
"}]

“At first, I was a bit sceptical about joining because of the social interactions I had to go through. But one of my friends, who was already part of the club insisted me and so I joined and I must say that is the best decision I took so far when I look back at my journey.

Already working as a Senior lead in AIESEC International for about a year, I was always open to opportunities which would help me mould into a better person and Rotaract was such a platform.

I joined as a member of the Rotaract club of Hyderabad East and after a year, with all the learnings and experiences I gained, I finally could have the courage to step up and start a club of my own, and that is when my journey as a president began.”- says Sharada.

What kind of support can one get from Rotaract?

"Once a Rotaractor, Always a Rotaractor. Rotaract is a platform wherein we support our fellow Rotaractors just like we do for our own families. The network you build through Rotaract helps at any point in your life might be with regard to your career, education, your personal matters, and when you travel to a new place you always have Rotaractors around you to whom you can reach out to.

She was a self-reliant individual who always believed in a single motto-” No opportunity knocks up twice in our life" and when it does, we must make sure to grab it before anyone else does.”

What would you like to share with all the self-determined individuals out there?

“When you feel you aren't ready for a certain adventure/challenge in your life yet, that is the first sign for you to take it up and master it because you know you can do it when you are in your comfort zone.

Step up, step out and you can do incredible things if you strongly believe in yourself.

There were sleepless nights, and terrible breakdowns in my journey as well, because that is how it works, and just so it happened, it didn't stop me from reaching my goal which I set out for at the very start. And now after a whole year of being a person leading a huge community of 70+ people which started only from 2, I ought to say that I wouldn't regret a single moment because it was all those challenging moments, and tough times that shaped me into whomever I am now. We aimed to become the best club, and we did it no matter what got along in our way, and that feeling is something that I could cherish forever throughout my lifetime.”- claims Sharada.

Sharada further added- "You are the creator of your own destiny", this is something I believe in and something every person should do too because it is his own actions that result in whatever outcome he gets in the future.

This is an amazing story of a resilient and dynamic individual and leader.
"}]
