Women empowerment refers to the ability of the women to enjoy their right to control and benefit from the resources, assets, income and their own time.A woman's empowerment is interwined with respect for human rights .Well, if there was no woman on this planet, would this world have been there??NO....
Even though a woman is the root cause for our existence , often a woman is estimated to be with low power and lower energy levels. She is restricted in several aspects right from the words she can speak , to the works she is allowed to do.Well, if the world treats women with no dignity , what's happening to this world ?? Where is the future going to land??
A woman like a man has to try to do the impossible .A woman has to realize and prove herself to the world that "Yes! I CAN do it! Iam CAPABLE ! And iam WORTHY of doing it!"
Let us all treat women with equal respect and help them to improve the quality of this beautiful world .#womenempowerment

Like
Comment

Share

Mental Health Awareness is still a new term for most of us and we fail to empathize with people around us who reach out for help. It's often too late until we realize the consequences of it. According to the WHO (World Health Organization), mental health is:

"... a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community."

There's a lot of bullying involved when you come out as a person with an unsettled mind. This occurred to me when I had a conversation with one of our college students where he mentioned that he fears being judged about not being 'macho' enough or being 'mad' while dealing with his own mind. To be able to control the bullying around coming out, we must first encompass the basics of mental health. This is just to help you all to try and be aware of the causes/symptoms of mental illnesses and the ways in which you can figure out whether you or anyone around you needs help.

For the starters, we all know that high parental expectations, passivity of college administrators, bullying in college, highly competitive academic culture and the lack of mental health help are driving most of the students to dark places in their minds. All of these factors might or might not be the cause for mental illnesses. It varies from person to person. However, regardless of the cause, understanding the basics of these illnesses and spotting their symptoms can make a significant difference.

Mental health disorders can be broadly classified into anxiety disorders, mood disorders and schizophrenic disorders.

Anxiety Disorders are disorders in which the person senses an increased amount of fear within themselves and avoids being in or around situations which could trigger their fears. These disorders include panic disorder, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder(OCD), post traumatic stress disorder(PTSD). Panic disorders can be spotted when the person displays signs of sudden paralyzing terror about an impending situation. Phobias are usually the fears associated with one particular object/person/gender/activity etc. People suffering from OCD most commonly exhibit a powerful urge to perform repetitive/compulsive acts even in simple day-day activities. PTSD is often seen in a person when they go through a terribly frightening experience which scars their mind. People with PTSD constantly feel that their lives or the lives of people around them are in grave danger.

Mood Disorders are the disorders in which the person experiences extreme moods swings ranging from mania to chronic depression. Major Depression is primarily a prolonged period of sadness where the person is no longer interested in their day to day life and remains detached. In Bipolar disorders, the person switches from extreme happiness to a dreadful state of despair, mostly without realizing that they're doing so.

Schizophrenic disorders haven't yet been researched on enough to determine whether they're a single disorder or a couple of disorders. This disorder is commonly called Schizophrenia and the person going through it has a difficulty in processing information and has an extremely fragmented thought process. They experience delusions and hallucinations both positively and negatively.

The common symptoms that you spot for any of these mental illnesses that can help you/your friends are:

-Withdrawing from people or activities you would normally enjoy.

-Sleeping or eating too much or too little.

-Feeling as if nothing matters.

-Consistently low energy.

-Using drugs more than normal (including alcohol, marijuana, cocaine etc).

-Displaying uncharacteristic emotions.

-Not being able to complete standard tasks, such as getting to college or cooking a meal.

-Persistent thoughts or memories that reappear regularly.

-Thinking of harming oneself or others.

-Hearing voices.

-Delusions.

The least we all can do for ourselves if we happen to be going through anything as such is to try and make minor lifestyle changes, talk to people who we think can help us- if it's mild. Seek professional help if it's major. The least we all can do for anyone around us who goes through it is to not laugh at them/bully them but to empathize with them and try to help them out by ourselves or by suggesting professional help if we can.

Educate people about mental health.

Reach out, seek help. You matter.

In this world we have people with everything in their life, but yet not satisfied, but in this same world I saw a guy having nothing in his life ,except courage and bravery which was given by his father . Exactly 19 years ago he was born on this day with a loud cry , making his parents throw all their worries in garbage and feel happy. On that day except his mom and dad, no one were there around him to pamper him and to take him into their arms... Days passed he had a younger brother ,his mother turned mentally discharged women. At that time his father played role of a mother ,a father and a teacher .He was born to his mother but brought up in the hands of his father. His father taught him ,his elder sister and his younger brother to lead a life with courage, bravery ,confidence and a rich behavior... Days passed he reached his 10years of age ,he understood things ,thought of working and helping his father in business. He used to work in "me-seva" along with his father and his father earned profit in large number. Their life turned rich ,financially.Though they had enough money ,he used to work and pay his school fee alone ,in his 9th and 10th standards. Lead a very happiest life ,with his father who is the only world of his ,from his childhood.. All of sudden business was been cheated by employees and he and his father saw great unexpexted loss. With a very critical financial conditions he did his 1st year of intermiade. And later he left to cuddapah along with his father to lead their family. There they started a bussiness with lot of difficulties. He helped his father in business ,within a year they again reached maximum profits. Completed his intermidiate successfully with a great happiness.... He alone Came back to Hyderabad ,leaving his parents in cuddapah to pursue his degree. Suddenly he got a call saying his father is no more. He rushed to cuddapah with heart full of tears. Lost hope on his life, lost interest in living in this world and lost trust on god thought of stopping his studies and working to lead his family.. But with the courage and bravery that his father gave ,he didnt quit his studies ,he is struggle to fufill his father's dream by working mentally and physically to lead his family. He is paying his fee and also paying fee for his brother ,and also making his mother get treated for her mental abnormality.... I’ve had many indirect teachers in my life. Reading, college, events and public speaking are some of them but if I were to choose one to talk about, it is travelling. It puts one in touch with different people, different cultures, different everything and most of the time, changes a person's perspective on the world entirely. But most of all, it puts one in touch with a different side of themselves as one can have time to introspect.

This change in perspective is extremely important for students, as in just a few years, these students head out to face the real world in many ways. Travel is something that also prepares students to take on challenges and handle them. But owing to familial reasons and financial reasons, students don’t travel enough and that is why I am penning this down, in an attempt to bring out the benefits of travelling.

txt
rich_1565006720498

I have been travelling extensively for work and every single time I travel, I learn something new. One of the major things that travelling taught me is to network with new people as I believe there is a lot one can learn through interactions. Many people that I met in my travels have contributed to my growth as a person and as an entrepreneur in some way or the other and I firmly believe it is something that students really need as it impacts a person’s perspective greatly.

While the shift in perspective and knowledge sharing are the obvious benefits of travel, it also teaches students other crucial skills like time management, budgeting and financial planning besides potentially kickstarting the learning of a new language. Travel is also a sure shot way of reiterating to oneself that there is a lot to learn. On the fun side, travel lets you try new cuisines and cultures.

txt
rich_1565006720499

Attending fests in colleges in other cities is the easiest way for students to travel. This also makes students take up projects that one wouldn’t normally do, as fests and competitions require one to actually do something. Apart from the memorable fun that you'll have with your friends on the trip, interacting with students from all over the place at these fests is another major advantage towards travelling this way. Taking up vlogging or writing about your travels is another plus that travel gives, as it builds your online presence.

"They should feel like home,

Warm and known,

Where one sometimes has to stand alone,

But which always feels own,

To the very skin and bone."

Today, I would love to write sweet poems on friendships that left their mark like that of milk and honey on your soft lips , but what is a poem if it doesn't make you relate your feelings to its raw blatant words as bittersweet as they can be?

Let me start by the dreamy definition of a 'perfect friend' that is long gone down the days in my life that i've been experiencing(but plus point i've been told by wise men and women that it's completely okay). Even a mother can sometimes be standing in a direction opposite to your flow.

The thing that i've learnt and want to share with you, is that a true friend is never really the one who stays by your side forever, or who shows you what the world is like or even agrees to whatever you say because that would not be a human at all in the first place!

As stated profoundly by Rupi Kaur that "Representation is vital otherwise the butterfly surrounded by a group of moths, unable to see itself, will keep trying to become the moth" makes me focus on a great trait of a friend which is to not only be one's window to help see the surroundings but also be a mirror by which he/she can make him/her realise what makes him/her different and help one enhance those qualities.

A friend is also the one that sometimes is not by your side and that hurts you, like hell trust me, and that somehow shows you how much you want the person beside you. I wouldn't dare use the word 'need' here because as harsh as it sounds no-one can't live without you, maybe your absence leaves a hole in their heart for a day or a couple of weeks or maybe few months or a maximum of some years and then their heart will finally fill the gap, maybe not with any other person but with something that would give them some kind of hope.

Also a friend is someone that states his/her voice as equally passionately as you make yours heard to them, no matter how opposite this stands with regards to yours, but also has an open mind enough to see your point of view on the topic and be fluctual from their words. And focus on my sentence which shows them fluctual to 'words' and not 'promises'!

In many lives, as I've seen the question always comes down to one point as to who stays forever that you wish to think as your friend, but sometimes if you love a flower in a garden, wouldn't watering it from afar be much better than plucking it and keeping it as close to you, indirectly leaving it to wither away?

People are most often wrecked by one experience giving it their whole that they refuse to give the deserving one that comes later on even a part of themselves.

I swear to God that there were days in my life when people walked away and the land beneath my feet also moved away with them. There were days when the floods of patience would sweep upon my barren heart but the waters refused to seep into it to make it alive and happy again. But as temporal things are, I survived, and today i feel no shame to tell my story to you people no matter the comments which are to come from your way or the image you are gonna create of me in your mind.

But with some responsibility over humanity, I beg you, as a well wisher maybe, to be someone's mirror and their reason to smile or even come to college on days that make them feel gloomy, appreciate people around you for the things they do even if it's a tad bit better than what you can do.

And lastly, I'd take this opportunity to wish all the names starting from 'a' way down till 'z' in my life that came like seasons and lived with me for unimaginable reasons, right from friends, family till the very foes, and left traces of themselves that had an impact on me both positive and negative that made me who I am today. This includes the one who also gave me false shelter and fake love which maybe I was very much in need of at that point of my life and I hope one day our paths cross again and I'll be able to proudly (without any hatred) tell my kids or friends that these were the ones who made me who I am today and I hope that in this moment, for YOU, I'm enough.

Feelings and emotions plays a very important role in everyone's life. We all are emotional at some or the other point in our lives. Being too much emotional can make us feel vulnerable, threatened and defensive. It robs our happy life by hurting us. People who are too emotional are extremely sensitive and find it difficult to accept reality and hurt themselves. This is the reason why too emotional people are often labelled as "Emotional Fools".

Too much of anything is bad. Especially when we let people or a person to control our feelings and modify ourselves the way they want to, will hurt us the most. We intensely feel almost everything like anxiety, anger but we can’t do anything about it because we either love the person too much or we let the situations and circumstances affect us.
We need to believe that we are our own master. We need to recognise that we may have people around us who are concerned and would like to help us. But, we have to help ourselves by not getting too emotional.

Emotional people are always curious to know what other people think about them. They try to find some hidden meanings in every little thing. We have to study ourselves and create a balance of everything. Too much of emotions can create loss of every possible kind, like we could be cheated or exploited.

Life is a mixture of emotions, imagination and intelligence, we can enjoy our life if we balance everything. We need to try to be emotionally intelligent as it involves not only the ability to look within, but also to be present in the world around us. It will make us stronger and more independent.

"When our emotional health is in a bad state, so is our level of self-esteem. We have to slow down and deal with what is troubling us, so that we can enjoy the simple joy of being happy and at peace with ourselves"

“Team work makes the Dream work” is as right as it is so often said. By definition team is group of individuals’ working together for a goal, task or anything. Teams are formed when a group of people come together to complete a mission or task in unity. Teams are a very efficient way of accomplishing works because even if it’s a team of four to five people, it’s like 5 brains working and when that happens, there comes by many ideas, suggestions to enhance the work making it successful. Not to forget that conflicts and arguments are also a part of a team and is also constructive if it’s about doing the task in the best way possible on the other hand if they don’t then it leads to the downfall of that team. Now let’s see it from the business point of view. There are different kinds of teams such as the marketing team, it team etc... Now here it’s a group of employees working under one department such as the it and sales. Groups develop into teams in four stages. The four stages are: dependency and inclusion, counter dependency and fighting, trust and structure, and work. As each team goes through this process, they become challenging, successful and strong. When people are working together as team it may not be necessary that they are all seated at one conference hall, in fact many teams are separated by cities to even countries. Such teams have huge responsibilities which they fulfill despite the time zone differences. A team’s performance enhanced by rapidly testing and developing methods that work for each team member, despite personality differences, skill sets, and critical thinking skills. Towards the end, as we understand the benefits of teams and their work, a successful team arises with trust and hard work and where a good team if formed when it’ members are rightly chosen and assigned.

txt

As every student dream of entering a college, it’s just not about earning an undergraduate degree but about experiencing the college life. It involves doing loads of fun when a professor is giving his/her lecture, skipping classes to enjoy roaming around the college and late-night studies for next day exams, it’s definitely one of the most important experiences of life. My college experience was so far really amazing, though it didn’t involve any bunking of classes as me and my 4 other friends promised on No Bunk Policy throughout the four years and it’s been a year and quarter and we have been adhering to this policy despite all other people telling us that you guys aren’t in college if you aren’t bunking and some people calling us nerds and class toppers while others shrug and sigh, and some people make us think we are still kids scared of skipping classes but we dump aside all that cause we do all that fun in the class itself while the professor is teaching, we start humming to songs and when one of is dosing off we irritate and wake them up because it’s important to listen to what’s being taught and as ironical as it sounds we don’t listen to it but when the professor catches us, we all become dead serious and pay attention. So while we do all of this we don’t find a reason to skip and we get the attendance and we have our fun. Exam time being one of the exhausting periods where we give our blood, sweat and tears to get the perfect result and make our parents proud. College life gives you an experience to deal with different kind of situations, deadlines and in the process of all this we are growing up to be mature people who are ready to tackle any kind of life hurdle that comes our way.

txt
Ever since I was in school I've heard people talk about how college life was going to be a bed of roses and how I am going to have the time of my life while I live it. Now, being a college student myself, I only partially agree with it. Though not as merry as a bed of roses, it's still done a fair amount of 'good' to me.

2 years of college life hasn't been an easy path to walk on. I don't remember being particularly excited about entering into this new phase of my life since I felt I didn't belong here. I was worried that I would have a non-existent social life and an uninterested brain for as long as I was going to be here.

The very first semester proved to be an outcast from this negative-thought-spiral. I met some amazing people who I still hold extremely close! This place has taught me to keep a count on my blessings and my lessons- equally. I did well academically and my self-esteem started to greet me better. I started having a positive feeling about coming here.

Through the following two semesters, I'd had bad friendships, heated arguments with our faculty, I'd heard terrible news- all followed by mandatory emotional roller coasters; yet this place has managed to mark a significant place in my life. They say it right when they say that life puts you through certain things only so you can learn and rise bright-up, again! I failed at my academics and lazed around all day long. A special mention to the Nescafe coffee outlet at our college that helped me swim through it all with tonnes of black coffee and to the friends who never left my side then.

Now, since the last six months, I have been the happiest one can ever be, both academically and emotionally- college playing the major part. This place has taught me that things will always remain impermanent and that I might or might not be happy/sad all the time. It's never fully black or fully white! In any situation that can arise in the two years left or anytime further in life, I can only rely upon the lesson of 'time' that this place has taught me and cherish the privileges that it's showered me with.

To the place that's helped me explore my interests better: with a lot more clarity than I had before coming here, I guess I can now put across my plans and thoughts more articulately and accept the good and the bad- both, in life.

College life is indeed more than just a random degree. It could quite literally help you with things like nothing's ever helped you before.

ART is freedom. Every artist dips his brush in his soul and paints his own nature. Sachin Jacob Abraham, an artist and a student of M.G.I.T says ,art is a way of life which helps him calm down. He draws when he is happy, he draws when he is sad, he draws whenever things fall apart, in short art is his medium of expression. From sketching since his middle school to taking it up a notch when he was in his Intermediate,he remembers the time he was stuck in a room for thirteen days after he caught Chicken Pox, and it was then he figured out that ART is always going to be there and started self-training in different forms of art. There is something very interesting about Sachin. He is colour blind to Red and Green, unless the colours are bright enough,he can't differentiate them. Sachin is also an active member of Art Club M.G.I.T which is synonymous to creativity. As an artist he has participated in different competitions and is also being wonderful in his academics

Art comforts him and the time just flows when he is with a piece of paper and few colours . He says ,take a step back away from the chaotic world, sketch and work things out!ART according to him is something you do and go with the flow.Every mistake is a new creation!
