Millennials have their own way of dealing with things, be it personal life or professional life. The older generations have different opinions about the kids of 90's, while some say we are techno savvy and smarter, a few say we are lazy, we cannot commit to relationships and many other misconceptions about the attitudes that we have developed. Manier times we are misunderstood. Some things belong only to the millennials like the selfies.

When it comes to the professional front, millennials do things differently and evidently have revolutionised many industries with their innovative ideas and approach. One can observe several differentiating factors in the millennial generation that are already changing the face of business and will completely alter what one can expect from the workforce within the next 10 years.

Here is a list of characteristic traits of a millenial.

txt
rich_1491037494937

1. Have A Lot To Teach:

When it comes to maintaining the right balance between work and personal life, I think millennials have mastered this art People from older generations are slightly less capable with multi-tasking; we don't see math professors solve the equations listening to music, oh yes but we do it right. The way we design our life giving equal importance to family, hobbies and work. Take a look at young entrepreneurs, the way many startups are built in India has revolutionised the market.

2. Continuous Learners:

In line with valuing learning over degrees, this generation is all about learning from anyone who has done something they want to do. They gobble up stories of successful people, they pick the brains of more experienced people in their industry, and they look to everyone from formal advisers to fictional characters as role models. They are hungry for success and driven by passion. They do not have prejudices that relent them from progress.

3. Beyond Degrees:

It is not like this generation doesn’t value a formal education or certifications. But when it comes to personal growth or qualifications they value knowledge and experience more. In this internet era, they prefer learning more things through the available platform and not just going to college and earning degrees. With a connected device, they can audit courses from the most revered universities or consult Wikipedia and countless other reference sites. If they need some practical or technical assistance they can find a forum or a YouTube video. They can learn continually and cumulatively without compromising their work or lifestyle.

4. Risk Takers:

Millennials are young and passionate. They are willing to take risks in starting their own businesses, whether it is an online business, offline business, a sole proprietorship or cooperation. They want to follow their passions and make their lives better, so they take chances. Millennials are self-entitled individuals. They want to do things their way, and they want to be praised for their successes. They take risks and are not afraid because the benefits often outweigh the failures.

5. More Productive:

This generation believes in optimum utilisation of available resources which subsequently makes them more efficient and productive and for that they mostly use technology. They figure out the required outcome and how to get it on their own terms. Going outside of your cubicle and venturing into the unknown world of entrepreneurship requires you to be flexible and have the ability to solve problems. It takes a lot of tries, a lot of time needs to be dedicated for you to become proficient at this and the right approach required for it comes naturally to millennials.

Andrzej Sapkowski's books about the witcher Geralt of Rivia and his adventures had long since become cultural phenomenon in Poland, the witty but arrogant author wrote the first stories about the world of the Witcher when fantasy books were looked down upon in Poland, so he took existing European folklore, some that have long since passed from memory and are barely even recorded anywhere, and wrote a short story for a magazine. People loved it so much, he got his first book deal, and the rest is history.

So when the Video Game distributing company, CD Projekt, decided to establish CD Projekt Red, a studio born out of raw passion for video games in their own words, the Polish company decided that this was their opportunity to give the world the stories they grew up with. So after a lot of struggle, from 2002 to 2007, piggyback riding on BioWare's presentation at E3, CDPR, eventually launched the very first Witcher game.

2007 was a fantastic year for Role Playing Games, it was the year BioShock, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion's expansion pack The Shivering Isles, and the Sci-Fi masterclass Mass Effect were released (You can read my thoughts on Mass Effect by clicking here), but this game, this obscure game called The Witcher from a developer nobody had heard of before came along and awed the fans of the books and drew in new fans, although the latter was a little difficult. It was a complex game, extremely lore appropriate: you had to prepare potions in advance, rest according to how much time it would take you to brew, investigation and research were old school style reading through the stuff you find, and monsters you hunted required you to learn about them before rushing to deal with them. It was a fan's dream come true, but to newcomers it was off putting, the weird combat system and BioWare's engine they had developed the game on felt clunky.
Despite all of this, despite the really slow start of the game, the story gets immensely better as it progresses, and it left a mark on those who pushed through the first act and dealt with the confusing second act. What are your Hobbies?

A quotidian answer would be - Who has the right time for hobbies!

Hobbies have become luxuries because people cannot afford to be free in this super fast hectic era. People have fallen prey to their mundane routines and somewhere down under have forgotten to appreciate their inner self and give themselves the time they deserve. Be it cracking competitive exams, striving for admissions into top colleges, finding a job, or chasing deadlines amid corporate walls, a majority have become mechanical and monotonous.

txt
rich_1491030153951

There is very popular saying that says; "Find three things in life: one to make money, one to keep you in shape, and one to be creative." A hobby can give you a sense of self-efficacy, it can help you nurture your creativity and gives you something to look forward to.
A hobby can give you something to be passionate about. For me my passions are writing, cooking and reading.

txt
rich_1491030848428

When someone appreciates my writing, it gives a sense of pleasure and ecstasy that I cannot convey in words though I am writer. I make it a point to update my blog every week no matter how busy I am. I love cooking and baking; it keeps my brain engaged. I prefer to bake something and try out new recipes especially when I am frustrated, it helps me settle myself and come out with solutions to my inevitable problems. You need to invest time in things you love doing because it helps you get to back to work with a fresh and calm mind that eventually helps you be more efficient at work.

txt
rich_1491031470113

So if you are someone who likes writing, don't wait for the right time, look for inspiration around and start writing. Sometimes you can pen down your deep thoughts and emotions and that will make you feel more better. If you are someone who loves cooking, playing video games, reading books etc, make sure you make time for what mends your life, makes you a better person and most importantly keeps you happy.
"}]

What does it mean to be a human being? In the future, when science becomes so advanced that you, a human being, can potential live forever by transplanting your brain (and thus your soul, or 'Ghost') into a cyborg body that cannot be easily hurt or damaged? Will you still consider yourself human or a robot?

These are the questions asked by director Mamoru Oshii through Ghost in the Shell, the 1995 Sci-Fi hit 'Ghost in the Shell', a movie so influential it even inspired The Matrix.

On the surface, the movie is set in a futuristic global mega city based on real life Hong Kong, where our protagonist, Motoko Kusunagi, a cyborg who is given a ghost of a human being, (hence the title of the movie, the cyborg body is referred to as shell), and is part of an elite police force, Sector 9. A futuristic police force to deal with futuristic threats, so to speak. All the elements are there, the action, Kusunagi's fight against a nefarious hacker hacking into ghosts in other shells, and who can forget the iconic rooftop scene, which is being recreated in the upcoming movie and frankly as me hyped.

The themes that this movie deals with are complex and require a lot of introspection to fully grasp. If you thought The Matrix was hard to understand, you've got another thing coming with GITS. I won't spoil the movie for you, obviously, but towards right after the first 20 minutes, the layers of a simple action anime movie are peeled to reveal the layers of philosophical depth in the movie, and there are layers upon layers of it. This movie deals with Cartesian duality, the meaning of life and death, what it means to reproduce, the uniqueness of humanity in passing on the best genes to their progeny instead of just copying whatever genes they have.

Frankly, it is one of it's kind, and a great movie to boot. If you've made it this far reading me fangirling over GITS, then let me tell you this: Watch the original 1995 movie before Scarlett Johansson's Hollywood adaption, and then watch that one too, because who doesn't want to see Scarlett on the big screen?

Ghost in the Shell represents what movies should be about, a piece of art that makes you reflect, question your surroundings and make you better than you already were. Any movie that can do that is simply cinematic art, and must be preserved.

Today is April 1- April Fools Day and you must be thinking of ideas to prank on your friends, enemies, siblings or colleagues, but cliched ideas like artificial insects, desktop screenshot, fake calls will not work out anymore. We do not recommend anything that damages property or causes inconveniences to people. The best pranks are the ones that you can joke about afterwards, the ones that also amuse the victim once they get over their initial surprise. A sign of a good prank is when the pranked person immediately wonders how they can do it to someone else. So here are few practical ideas that will definitely work out.

txt
rich_1490955784175

1. Inverted Computer Screen:

Imagine your computer or Laptop Screen downwards; this is one of the best pranks to play on a colleague, siblings or friends. Hold down [Ctrl] + [Alt] and hit one of the arrow keys. If it works, the [down] key will turn their screen upside down and the [right] or [left] key will turn the screen sideways. If the person is not aware of this trick, then they might have to go to settings and restore the settings but it is very annoying to read the text when it is upside down. Mean while you can sit back enjoy watching your frustrated victim.

Introduced in 1991, the Bharat Stage norms, or BS norms, were regulations on the emissions of vehicles, to keep it in check after the rapid increase in pollution since in just the last 100 years. Taking the Euro emission regulations as base, our own BS regulations were rolled out and since then, undergone changes eventually over the years.

The current regulations, BS-III, was introduced in 2005-6, based on Euro-III regulations of 2000-05, and wasn't implemented until 2010. Meanwhile, EU and the rest of the western world moved to Euro 4 and then 5, with stricter emission regulations than before, while us, with our humongous population and a Prime Minster that is serious about fighting global warming, were stuck with outdated technology to check pollution at the source. Now that the Supreme Court has banned the sale of BS-III vehicles from April 1st, 2017, it obviously has not gone down well with auto manufacturers who will now face huge losses because the current stock is only BS-III vehicles

So this article right here has everything you need to know about the issue, and why you should care about this, in interest of leaving this planet intact for the future generations.

Lets start with question 1:

What is BS-IV?

BS-IV are the new emission standards set by the Government of India, that affects not just motor vehicles, anything that has an internal combustion engine that may cause heavy pollution. The government has a clear cut plan of implementing the Bharat Stage regulations, starting from 1991, and reaching BS-VI by 2020.

Should I feel sorry for the auto manufacturers?

Absolutely not. In fact, auto manufacturers knew that BS-III was being phased out after April 1st, 2017, but almost none of them planned on manufacturing BS-IV vehicles because it would cut their profits. They decided their pockets were more important than the environment, so no, you do not feel sorry for them. However, we must appreciate companies that had already started to manufacture BS-IV vehicles. The current inventory of unsold BS-III vehicles in the market is 8.2 lakh units, with an estimated price of Rs. 12000 crore.

What does this mean for the vehicles I already own?

Don't worry, your vehicles are still good to be used, just make sure you get regular pollution checks done. If you happened to be attracted by the fantastic discounts on vehicles from showrooms trying to get rid of their BS-III stock, worry not, you can still register them after April 1, but make sure you register it within two months otherwise your vehicle will be illegal to use.

If BS-III was supposed to be phased out anyway, why did Supreme Court ban it?

To ensure the sale of BS-III vehicles are stopped with immediate effect. The Supreme Court has taken this decision with the health of the people of this country in mind and has been, rightly, praised for the decision. People's health should not be at the mercy of for profit companies.

Why should I care?

Because we owe it to our children a clean and safe Earth for them to grow and start families in. Now, of course, starting families and having children is not the ultimate goal in life, but why would you want to pollute the only home known to humans? It's the end of March and the temperatures are hitting 40 degrees in Hyderabad, something that would have been unthinkable just a few short years ago. This isn't even about countries, one country's mistake can be another country's heatwave.

This year is going to be especially hot for India, there is already a drought in Tamil Nadu, and amidst this, the so called 'leader' of the free world, Donald Trump does not believe in climate change. The Paris Accords are at the risk of being broken, but we Indians can be proud of the fact that our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is taking climate change seriously enough to promote solar energy and green energy options, and has ratified the Paris Climate Accords.

The future is bleak, but it doesn't have to be that way. In the world of the Terminator, Arnold Schwarzenegger, "There are two doors. Behind Door Number One is a completely sealed room, with a regular, gasoline-fueled car. Behind Door Number Two is an identical, completely sealed room, with an electric car. Both engines are running full blast.I want you to pick a door to open, and enter the room and shut the door behind you. You have to stay in the room you choose for one hour. You cannot turn off the engine. You do not get a gas mask.I'm guessing you chose the Door Number Two, with the electric car, right? Door number one is a fatal choice - who would ever want to breathe those fumes? This is the choice the world is making right now."

Ensure your children tomorrow have clean air to breathe with your actions today.
