Sourav has a great interest in reading books but he is unable to spare time for his sole interest. He strives hard to manage time for reading. But his struggle always goes in vain because he can't help himself completing the whole book in his busy going life.

He wishes to have someone to give the jist of the book. Even many of us have this feeling...right!

Amrith Deshmukh reads for us. Not only for us, he reads for the whole nation. Amrut Deshmukh is the founder of booklet app. He is on the mission to cultivate the habit of reading among the Indian youth. He comes up with weekly book summaries both text and audio.

You can read a thick book just within 20 min using booklet app. Let me give you a lucid idea about this.

Amrith was engaged in the hunt for Startup ideas. One day his friend invited him for watching movie. They reached the theatre 15 minutes earlier and in order to kill time he started narrating a book to his friend. His friend was very much impressed by Amrith skills. He asked Amrith to share summary of the books.

Amrith felt this will be the proper idea as his startup. He spent sleepless nights right from the day to give shape to his idea. As he is from Chartered Accountant background he doesn't have any technical knowledge. But he didn't give up there, a quote from the book "It's not important what you have, it's important what you do with what you have", ignited him. He has Whats App so he started saying book summaries and within no time he got requests from thousand people and after 5 months it reached to 50,000. Through survey he realised that people like summaries but they didn't have time to read them. So he started making audio summaries. It was an instant hit and after facing many adversities he came up with a booklet app.

"Nobody is busy in life it's all about priorities. If you have time for Facebook you have time for book. Reading can't be a hobby, ever heard having breakfast as hobby..? " says Amrith. This sounds truly sensible!

Friends, this is an amazing app. Just download and join the great mission of making India read and fall in love with books.
"}]

All these things, and countless other ways people try to make themselves happy, they are all merely means to give ourselves a temporary feel-good moment. But when you think about it, they don’t really fix the problem. They don’t fix our reason for sadness. They are ‘bandages’. It’s okay to use them, but using them alone? So what is it that makes us happy? What is it that keeps our mind at peace 24/7? Is it even possible? Or is it the way it’s supposed to be? I mean, there’s day, and then there’s night. As the book “The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck” by Mark Manson says, it is important for us to have problems. The answer I’ve found is that, to be happy, we need to ‘accomplish’ something. Get moving! And to an extent, I felt this was it! This was how I could feel good about myself. Maybe I wasn’t happy because I wasn’t proud of myself. No, laughing all day with friends and having a great time all day, every day, doesn’t mean you are happy. It's a story as old as time itself, parents giving you pocket money but then you know for a fact that the money given to you won't be enough to last through a full day, let alone the entire month. So what, then, can you do when you know you need the money and just have your wits and your skills with you, while managing college and social life?

Throw away whatever social life you have and pick up a means to earn some money, of course. We're obviously joking, but on a serious note, listed below are some methods, a student can use to earn money on their own.

1. Affiliate Marketing: This one doesn't even have to compromise your social life. All you need to do is be a real smooth talker and make friends with people who use online retailers like Amazon frequently, and you are set. Affiliate marketing is great, and can net you some serious cash if done right. How it works is, if a person buys a product they are looking for using the affiliate link you provide, you get a percentage of the price of the product bought. So, the bigger the product, the better money you make, and you can do that by sitting at home or hanging out with your friends.

2. Become a Tutor:

This one is as old as our parents, and we are not even joking. There have been many generations of students teaching the next generation, especially those who had a knack of mastering difficult subjects. Best part, private tutors for engineering subjects can easily charge somewhere around Rs. 10000 per subject, and all of that for just one or two hours of classes.

3. Sell your services: on Fiverr

The world's largest platform for freelancers, Fiverr.com is a unique website where you can get stuff done for as low as $5. From designing a logo for someone, to singing a song, to writing a letter with beautiful handwriting and something as simple as holding up a signboard for a popular YouTuber, they want it, you have it, so why do it for free?

4. Teach a skill: If you were the kind of kid that was given a skill to learn without choosing when you were a kid, this is the time you thank your stars that your parents chose the right path for you. From teaching how to play guitar, to teaching various instruments, dance forms, even becoming a professional gaming coach (DoTA is serious business, after all), this is something you should definitely consider, if you are going to be serious about making money and have skill.

5. Startup: No this is not a joke, neither are you dreaming. This is literally the best idea to make money on the side, if your idea is amazing and catches enough eyes. You can forget about having a social life, however, the success of your startup life will pivot you to such heights, you can forget about pocket money for the rest of your life and start worrying about how to grow your business even further. This path is the hardest in this list, but if it works out, the most rewarding.

There are many student entrepreneurs for you to take inspirations from, many of whom we've covered right here on stuMagz.

So, do you think you have what it takes? Are you ready to make money on the side and go forge your own destiny?

Do tell us in the comments!

Granny locked me in my room and she won’t let me out. She says it’s because I was bad.
Sometimes I do bad things. Ever since my mommy went away. Granny says my mommy is in heaven. I don’t know how she got there.
I can still remember mommy. I remember her long black hair and her dark eyes. I remember her red lips and her white teeth. I remember her soft skin. I remember the way she smelled.
Her red dress still smells like her. It’s hanging in the wardrobe in her bedroom. Granny keeps mommy’s room locked. She says I’m not allowed in there, but I know where she hides the key. Sometimes when granny falls asleep I sneak in there and smell mommy’s red dress.

I have a friend called Mary Ann. She lives across the street. Sometimes she comes over to my house to play. She came over today. We were playing with dolls.

Granny told me, “Don’t go into your mother’s room.”

“This is my mommy’s dress,” I said. I held it up to show her.

“It stinks,” Mary Ann said.
“No it doesn’t,” I said. “It smells like flowers.”

“It smells like dead things,” she said.
That made me even more angry.

“Who’s that?” asked Mary Ann. She was pointing at a picture.

“That’s my mommy; Isn’t she beautiful?”

“She’s ugly,” Mary Ann said. “She has creepy eyes and her teeth are weird.”

“No, she doesn't,” I said. “She looks like the most beautiful girl in the world!”

“She looks like a dead thing,” Mary Ann said.

That made me the angriest of all.
I don’t remember what happened then. I think I heard Mary Ann screaming. I don’t remember why. It was dark and I almost couldn’t see. I couldn’t hear anything except Mary Ann screaming.
I think something bad happened.
Then I remember granny shouting at me. She was crying too. She took the red dress off me. She was really rough and she kept hitting me. I was crying too.
Granny fetched a washcloth and wiped the blood off my face. She told me over and over how bad I was. Then, she dragged me all the way upstairs and locked me in my room.
I looked out the window and saw granny in the back yard. She was burying something with a shovel.
I must have done something really bad.
"}]
' I just feel alone , I feel like a automaton. I'm just surrounded by people who are not really connected to me in personal levels. I don't even know how to explain my situation. I'm just tired of being fake and faking laughs too.'

I felt like this once and I heard and also I'm hearing this from others too.
Let us stop for a minute and really think about, are really behaving like what we are?

Really?

We want to be so perfect every second , we want to look perfect , we want to be felt as "perfect".
Well .. why are we trying so hard to be perfect when our "imperfect things " are so beautiful?
We are beautiful inside and out as what we are . But we try very badly to be perfect all the time . Obviously says that, we are not letting "our-self" come out.
We are not living like what we actually are!
We will attract people like us when we project us as 'us'. Then, we will be surrounded by the people who really care about us and connected in personal levels.

So, when we are not living like what we are then we won't have the people in our life whom we are looking for.
Then,We will definitely be surrounded by the people who doesn't understands us or who really are not connected in personal levels.

Do you guys ever wonder why we have best buddies from schools or any childhood mates?

(Mostly)
Because we were like what we actually are. As a child , we never cared about what is this "being perfect".
We never worried to behave like what we actually are.
We were not afraid of losing fake people or bad reputation or whatever .
As we grew , we understood that this society is full of competition and pride and prizes and everything else.

Competition, pride should actually be a positive vibe but we mistaken it .Competition is to win a race. Competition doesn't need you to harm others. We completely mistaken it and we understood that , we have to beat others to win the race. Competition is to show the better version of you but when you are bad to others and if you win the competition, does it really matters?

We are in a society where people judge each other. They judge you if you do anything. They judge you even if you don't.
So, basically all are here to judge us.
Why do we even have to care about it then?

Why don't we live in the way we love to live?
We have only one life and you should thank God that you are a human. If you were a animal, god knows what humans have done with you till now.🤷

I just want to say , don't take judgmental people seriously and ruin your life. We have only one life here and let us live like us .
Let us live in a wonderful way so that , when we are in our 60's or 70's we will have a heartful of memories with us , in which we enjoyed , we learnt , we laughed , we cried, and finally we lived like "us".

"}]

It was three days before her marriage that something took a turn towards destruction. Shrena, 19 years old girl lived with her family in Wayanand a place near the Idukki dam. She was the only daughter to her family and her marriage would have been the most precious moments for her family. Unfortunately due to the South West monsoon winds which arrived at Kerala much before 3 days as expected resulted in the destruction by creating floods due to heavy rainfall. The Idukki dam was flooded causing a threatening damage to the villagers nearby. It is the belief of the villagers that the curse loomed over all the people of Kerala by the god. None can forget this enormous disaster.

The floods affected not only Wayanand but also other places like Chengannur, Aranmula, Aluva, Chalakudy, Kuttanad and Pandalam. All the 14 districts of the state were placed on red alert. Families affected with floods lead them into depression and chaos in Kerala. Death tolled high, families perished and many children orphaned due to sudden devastating downpour. The flood refuge teams arrived at once and evacuated people from that place to safer place. There was a huge emotional breakdown among the Malayans about their lost dreams into hues and cries. The basic necessities were supplied by flood refuge teams to them. The refuge teams advised them to drink boiled water only so as to prevent the people from water borne diseases.

Kerala blamed the government of Tamil Nadu for opening the shutters of 35 dams out of 54 dams across the state thus leading into massive floods. The government of Kerala filed a case against the government of Tamil Nadu stating that the sudden release of water from the Mullaperiyar Dam by Tamil Nadu government was one of the reasons for the devastating flood in Kerala. The government of Tamil Nadu rejected it stating that Kerala suffered the deluge due to discharge of excess water from 80 reservoirs across Kerala leading to controversy between the two states. The weather forecasters stated that it was due to the depression in the Bay of Bengal or the rising temperatures have led to huge fluctuations in the south west monsoon winds from the Arabian Sea which arrived at Kerala much earlier than the normal date leading to heavy downpour causing floods. The people of Kerala blamed the government for improper forecasting of the climatic changes by the weather forecast centers leads to great damage .

Often people from other states viewed that the floods caused are may be natural or man made or both as there is the fault in the hands of government for not securing its people. It is now brought to light in the minds of the people that even the disasters were caused due to the politics. If it is the man made disaster there should be a law to enforce the punishments upon those responsible. Donations have become the latest fad of politicians and celebrity. Social media has become platform of their praise. But where lies our consciousness, our wisdom, and our education… question……

"}]
“Lifestyle” became the universal word used nowadays. People used this word for food, health, apparels and many more which includes in the living kit. The word lifestyle means the way one lives according to the rapid changes in the society. Many changes have taken place in lifestyle by introducing new trends which appeals and attracts the users and viewers. It had became a lifestyle to post every new trend of your dress or food or any other , irrespective of your age which attracts the people around you to like your post , thumbs up! Is it true ?

Well I know there will be billions who says it is true!

As lifestyle wrapped its self in almost every part of our living there are always pros and cons to this word.

As we are living in a fast pace world with so many fashion styles introduced to us in each and every minute irrespective of whether it leads us to a healthy life style. Let’s begins with food. As we all know that food makes man. Millions of years ago humans used to adopt simple staple food such as rice or wheat to satisfy his hunger. But when we look into the present we see a diverse change in our food habits. Now a days people are mostly habituated with junk and food additives and these decorative foods appeals for eyes with its color, texture etc but not for stomach. For example now a days we see reporters reporting a celebrity’s family occasion of his daughter’s wedding in a grand way by cutting a glittery wedding cake which costs nearly 1 crore or more.

As the edible glitters are made up of sugar, Acacia, Maltodextrin , corn starch and color additives specifically approved for food use, including mica based pearlescent pigments and FD and C colors etc. These are poisonous and it causes gastrointestinal problems. These glitters are only used for decoration as it contains some of the metallic elements and also having high amounts of Maltodextrin which causes Crohn’s disease, Diabetes, blood pressure etc and people labelled it as the creativity in food!!.

Now let’s comes to tea, one of the beverages we drink every day. As we have heard about green tea, black tea, rose tea etc in different colors with strange names. Some of them are healthy while some others deteriorate our health . Green tea is good for health as it has properties which improves our immune system, reduces the fat etc . Black tea also has many good benefits like mental alertness , preventing heart diseases and Ovarian diseases reducing the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease etc but excessive consumption leads to Diabetes, Glaucoma, Seizures etc as black tea has caffeine in it. Rose tea too has many good benefits like it fights against acne and makes the skin glows ,boost collagen , reduces anxiety but excessive consumption leads to diarrhea, nausea etc. There are many food items produced this way which only attracts us but not to our health!!!

Most of the food items we eat spoil our health as we are manufacturing them in an unhealthy and unhygienic manner. As people becoming more and more fashionable about food, the wellness impact is often overlooked. I sometimes wonder what will happen in the future where all the food produced in a creative and attractive way to our eyes but not to satisfy our hunger.

Let’s us move on to apparels. Lifestyle brought a tremendous change in this part. One attires himself or herself in the way the media displays it. Is it true? One wants to wear a dress which is similar to the ones wore by the models. The traditional form of apparels lost its glory due to the modern and fashionable dresses. It has now became common misconception that modern apparels are user friendly than the traditional attire. So your “lifestyle includes how you live , eat , emote and think that determines your health and life. To prevent any disease, you may have to change how you live.” We’ve paid no heed to the words of our elders and thus we have chosen the worst path which destroys our future and identity. “To me, clothing is a form of self expression – there are hints about who you are in what you wear” ,Says Marc Jacobs.

So “A healthy lifestyle not only changes your body, it also changes your mind, attitude and mood.”

"}]
