‘Spotlight’ directed by Tom McCarthy is a story of a newspaper’s quest for the expose of Child abuse and molestation in Catholic churches.
Spotlight packs in with good star cast including Michael Keaton, Rachael McAdams, Mark Ruffalo and Liev Schreiber. The ‘Spotlight’ has an unfashioned and unconventional story-telling which will probably not interest the audience.But, It has a decent story to start off with but takes a huge turn from the middle as soon as they uncover the truths behind the child molestation.

The actors have done equal justice to their respective roles.The story is about a ‘Boston Globe’ which is a local newspaper finds out about a shocking scam. With series of riveting evidence continue to find out the biggest scams of Catholic churches.Mike played by Mark Ruffalo is one of the highlights of the film when he demands to run the story next day in the newspaper rather than waiting for a week of fresh edits.The movie also stars Stanley Tucci as a maverick lawyer who represents few victims.He is top-notch in this character.
This is more a new angle to the conventional journalism of how a room of hard-working journalists transform the media.’Spotlight’ not only about unearthing the hidden facts but also has the emotional factor when Sacha played by Racheal McAdams meets a survivor of Molestation.

Overall, ‘Spotlight’ is about hard-working journalists who are impervious to any sorts of suppression and uncovers the huge scam of Catholic Churches.It is a brave attempt by a director to take on the system.
