The 9th of September finally came, the day that I’d been waiting for a long time. I deboarded the bus and got myself an Ola that took me to the glorious Taj Vivanta in Yashwantpur, Bangalore. Does it sound like a vacation that I’d been longing for? No, it was the day of IndiaHacks Conference 2017 organized by HackerEarth in partnership with IBM and Honeywell.

I was surprised to find out that the two other strangers that I was sharing the cab with were also on their way to Taj Vivanta and the reasons were the same, all so excited we introduced ourselves and started discussing how we ended up at the conference.

The registration desk was right at the rear entrance of the hotel where the volunteers guided us to our desk based on the first letters of our name and we got our Entry tags and a lot of goodies by both HackerEarth and Here Location Services. With our bags already full, we stuffed them in, to further increase the burden on those poor bags which had no choice but to carry what we shove into them.

As we entered the event venue we noticed that this was more like a tech exhibition than a conference per se as there were marketers from some major tech related brands to help us understand the products and services that they offer while solving the issues if any. This perception immediately changed when I finally opened the agenda sheet and I waded my way through the crowd to find the Aura 1 which was the main auditorium where most of the tech talks were scheduled to happen.

One of the Ola share riders that I shared my ride with had a mindset strikingly similar to mine and we shared similar interests with the event so eventually we decided to stick around together for the rest of the event and that was probably one of the best decision I made as I could leave rest of the decisions of the day to him.

As we entered the Aura 2, the extremely wide curved display panel took us by shock and we had never seen anything similar before, we took our seats and waited for the first speaker who was the CEO of HackerEarth, Sachin Gupta. The event started off on a bright note with him explaining what all he and his team had to go through to finally reach the point that the company is at right now. He also shared his insights on the online portal Airbnb and we learned a lot about the company and its founders that we’d never known. Just when we got too immersed in his speech we realized that a lot of time had just passed by and his session just flowed like the cusp of the moon.

The next speaker took on the session in such an aspiring way that we didn’t feel the lack of presence of Sachin Gupta for more than a moment. Pallavi Nadhani, the CEO and Co-Founder of FusionCharts was such an inspiration. He revolutionized the business that he took on, being one of the only major JavaScript frameworks from India, Fusion Charts had a product that needed no salesmen to sell. At an age of 16, he took on the world with his revolutionary idea and his Fathers expertise in the field. He struggled, failed, partially succeeded, made a lot of money on a few products and lost equally high on few other. He explained to us that when we dream big, the stakes are high and that you cannot have emotions abode when you are high on business. If a product is not doing well, you could give it another try but if we stick on to the product due to an emotional commitment to it, it won’t take the company anywhere. We should decide the right time and then take a call if it’s worth continuing the product or if it should be killed for the benefaction of the entity. His talk was not just motivating but helped guide many aspiring entrepreneurs to handle the difficulties that they might come across walking on the road ahead.
Following this was a panel discussion by some of the notable names in the tech industry which apropos Crowd sourcing a company’s growth. This was something that could be of great use to any budding entrepreneur, with the experience that each panel participant had, their statements could be vouched for. Post this panel discussion we proceeded for a petite break to let all the gained knowledge sink in.
After the break, I proceeded to the Aura 3 which had a tech talk on Cyber Risk & Controls by Atin Goorha who is the Head of Technology at RBS. He was brusque and to the point leaving nothing to ambiguity. Conveying the essentials of Cyber security and the risks involved in being too nonchalant while transacting online. This was followed by a small talk about building chatbots by Poornima from IBM and then an inspiring session by Ram Iyengar from ZOHO who talked us through Low Code applications and talked about their implementation in the SRM University and Andhra Police Dept. Then came two men from the Here Location Service Team, Girish Vengassery, Lead Architect Anshum Verma, Principal Engineer. They talked us through the several API’s that HERE maps have and how it could help us solve many technological problems. We discussed several challenges that their product could help solve before ending it with a Q&A session.
We took another break and had the wonderful lunch that was hosted for us by the lovely people at Taj Vivanta as we had exhausted all our energy in our efforts to listen and understand the immense amount of data that each of the speakers had to share with us and then proceeded to the part of the Tech Conference that I was most excited about. I went back to the Aura 1 to attend the talk about the role of AI and ML in IoT by Srinivas Muktevi, Head of Data Analytics, Honeywell. IoT has always been my area of interest and I was eager to find out how AI and ML could change the scene of IoT for the better. His talk was insightful and helped us come up with some excellent ideas that could make lives easier. This talk was clashing with another workshop that I was excited about, the workshop was being conducted by IBM and they had enough volunteers to help us build our own chatbots using their Watson services. Unfortunately, I had to skip it as all the seats were already occupied by the time I walked in. All so disappointed about the loss, I walked back to the Aura 1 to meet Anurag Vohra, Managing Director & Head of Finance Solutions, RBS on the stage. He was there to talk about the Buffalo Conundrum, the name didn’t get the best of people and several people tersely walked out of the auditorium to the speaker’s discontent. I had no other talk that I was interested at the moment so I stuck on to the Aura 1, Oh thank the sweet lord I did.

It was by far one of the best talks of the conference, smartly comparing the growth of a business to a buffalo in the water. We had a final snack break after this and then came Saurabh Pant, a famous comedian to make our evenings even more memorable. The highly informative event was ended on a light note to ease the nerves. The whole conference ended with the announcement of the winners of India Hacks Hackathon 2017 which preceded the conference. This was certainly an experience that I'd love to have again, I thank HackerEarth for hosting this event and to IBM, Honeywell and all the other sponsors for making this event possible.
"}]

Perseverance means continuing or repeating our efforts to achieve something in spite of many obstacles. It is the best of human virtues because it is the key to success.

Human life is full of hardships and misfortunes.we cannot expect to control every situation in our life but we can control the way we react to it.sometimes in life we face failures as they are part of our life.we should not be disheartened by the failures as they teach the best lessons which no one teach us.failures, misfortune, difficulties are the obstacles to our path of success which we can overcome with the help of perseverance.

If we place an obstacle in front of a moving ant, it overcomes the obstacle. If we place an obstacle again, it repeats the same thing. It does not stop its effort to overcome the obstacle. It is the perseverance of an ant to overcome the obstacle.

When you know and believe something to be what you want it to be, and you realise that repeating the same thing over and over until it becomes toxic to you is not a good thing, perseverance is a skill you must inculcate within yourself. The art of knowing when to stop and when to persevere is a story of its own. There is a very thin line between futile repetition and positive perseverance. One who finds this line and manages to balance their life on it will find success.

I had to think a thousand times before writing this, whether is it appropriate to post something like a raw truth called death in a public platform. But here I am, talking about it.

The reason I wanted to speak about this is that I watched death pass in front of me a few moments back. I am still terrified by the fact that I had to witness it.

After a long strolling Sunday I decide to have a smoke and refreshment in the evening. I had my bike roaring. Past went the car driven by an energetic young fellow like me. He had lost his control over the beast and missed me by a flicker. But that was not the end of the show. An old man was crossing the street. In order to avoid his collision with the man, the driver turned his car towards an auto coming in the opposite direction. The same was done by the auto driver who as a result ran into the old man.

I was sitting there on my bike witnessing the worst horror show ever. In the blink of an eye, the man was down. The auto's headlight was broken into pieces. Luckily he was alive but badly injured. Blood flowed furiously from his ankle and I could hear him screaming out of pain. The driver of the car had fled the scene with the car. But the auto driver taking up the responsibility took the man to the hospital accompanied by me and another Uncle. His ankle was broken and needed bed rest.

I came back home forgetting my smoke. I was thinking, What if the car hadn't missed me? What if I was the person injured or even dead by now? I swore, pausing for a moment, that was scary. I had just started living my life.

Death is a raw truth that comes for us all. I guess everyone might have watched Final Destination movie series. At first, even I did not believe death makes plans for us. But now as I have witnessed a grave horror scene with a perfect script, I had to give up my belief. Death has a plan for each one of us. It's only a matter of time. It made me think of how we take the life we have for granted, living recklessly, believing ourselves to be invincible and ignoring the inevitable as if that will make it go away.

So guys, embrace the life that you have been given. Do whatever you want today. Because no one can ever guarantee you a Tomorrow. Not even You. Fasten your seat belts and stay safe.

Live life like there is no tomorrow! Cheers!

"}]
THEME OF THE WORKSHOP

Engineering is basically the application of science to make the life better. Application of engineering is growing seamlessly crossing the physical, geographical borders. Today’s engineer is a global citizen addressing the global problems in addition to the local problems. The tool or product designed has to be relevant for any Geo spatial, cultural and even logical barriers. The challenges are multiple. If providing solutions to these challenges is critical then adaptation while in the process of finding solution is no less mandatory. Engineer has to incorporate global personality traits in teams of heterogeneous nature and the product generated thereby has to be consumed not withstanding any boundaries.

The SCALE workshop is based on the theme

“Transformative youth and Engineering Education towards Sustainable Future”.

The process in the workshop includes building models, plans, solutions, schema, idea creation and various modes of engineering dialogue. SCALE is a student initiative, working in collaboration with IUCEE, which is a platform of the students, by the students, for the students. The workshop provides a platform to encourage students to work in a passionate manner apart from the syllabus set by the educational committees. It engages students to work on Project Based Learning, which enables an individual to be competent for the industry and outside world. Students would also be given tasks or action plans to develop in the workshop wherein they can brainstorm and arise with creative and mind blowing ideas which can help the rapidly growing society.

The duration of the workshop is 3 days. The first day starts with introduction to the theme of the workshop and followed by churning sessions, wet skill sessions and group activities. The second day starts with a presentation on the importance of action plan development followed by development of action plans by the participants by exploring the theme and involves presentation of the action plans by various groups to the peer of the colleges. The workshops are facilitated by 3 experienced SCALE members from across the country.

txt
rich_1505046693684

Woke up at 09:28 today. The same old lazy morning and the snoozing alarm sounding at its peak, only to be put back on hold. With a half open eye and the bed-stuck spine, the mobile screen made me realize that the morning lecture is already out of my hands. Not a worrisome update, I've already got used to it (0% attendance requirement, duh!). But I could see something worse slipping from my cards.

Wake up, boy! Just a couple of minutes before they closed the doors to your "morning madness" (Get that, please). Pace up or miss out the only good meal of the day. Such cruel is the world, who shuts down the entry for food? It's disheartening to be so close to it and yet so far to reach.

Brush your teeth, later. Judge me all you want but I've got my priorities sorted. And when the time asks for it, you got to make some tough calls. You haven't eaten for 8 long hours, after the night canteen I mean, and worked till the first ray of sun struck your face, especially when you're roleplaying a sniper. And while you were rested for a power-nap-stretched-too-long, your mind was still fighting the evil. Quite a restless task you did there.

But what about the habits that you've grown up with? All the learnings about the manners and etiquettes, you want them to go in vain? Just because of a delay of a couple of minutes, you're letting go of a well-nurtured "ritual". You may regret it in the later times, that because of you being irresponsible towards your tasks, you're now showing a token of disrespect to the endeavors of your parents. Let that sink.

After analyzing the opportunity cost against a long grown daily chore and getting the weighted average of the risk regressions, It was the latter who was the clear winner, breakfast to be specific. 'Cause why not? What is learned shall never be forgotten but at the same time, you must live in the present.
What you do now will have a more impact than what you've been doing so far and when it comes on to choosing the sides, always the present you scales more than the past version of yours.

Because anyway, screw ups like these, being the perpetual ones, can be managed in the future but you must not start off with a brand new blunder when you now that it can be averted.

Damn! That was a tough analysis to do, wasn't it? Took more time to think it myself than you reading this blog. So I started off my way to Hostel mess. And not to my surprise now, the gates were tightly closed. So I got back and brushed my teeth.

Fin.

PS: This is my first effort in writing the first person account and an abstract comparative analysis.

Do let me know your remarks and the points at which I can improve further.

"}]

Me: When was the time that you started attaining interest in bikes?
Srinith: Well,I dont exactly remember,as a child moto gp fascinated me unlike other kids so it was always from the start that I love bikes and racings.I was always passionate about it.

Me: When was the first time you started to learn bike?
Srinith: I learned bike when I was in my class 10 and eventually I started loving it more, with every passing day.

Me: Which motorcycle racer do you admire the most?
Srinith: That is Valentino rossi, I admire him the most.He is 38 years old now and a MotoGP racer.

Me: To you, what riding or racing means?
Srinith: It is like a meditation to me that helps me getting over all my stress cause sometimes you needs crooked roads to get your head straight.(laughs)

Me: Where do you usually practise for your track days and what are the things that you intensify on?
Srinith: I belong to race'ists motorcycle club and we practice in chicane circuit, leonea resorts. We need to work on our body positioning, lap timings and several things.

Me: Which bike do you own and which one would you look forward to?
Srinith: RTR 200,that is bike that I own.I named it ATOM which refers to mini dynamite. BMW s1000rr is my favourite bike,I would love to own it some day.

Me: Being a racer what are the things that you need to care about?
Srinith: A racer is suppose to maintain his fitness and have a good physique. Drinking or smoking is completely barred. We have to maintain proper diet and workout a lot.

Me: As a racer what are you achievements?
Srinith: I am a National Level motorcyclist for that I will always be thankful to my mentor Harsha Kakarla,Vikas Reddy who is also the founder of Race'ists club.

Me: Would you make racing as your full time profession or it will remain your hobby?
Srinith: If given a chance,I would love to make it my full time profession but that is something where I need my parents support. It will always be my hobby though.

Me: Would you like to give any message to the teens about rash driving?
Srinith: Yes,definitely. According to me racing should be restricted to the tracks cause roads are proner to accidents that may cost them their life. One while on road must follow all the safety rules, and always wear a helmet.

Let whatever be the situation be , I always come home to her warm hugs filled with loads and loads of love and happiness . The way she wags her cinnamon roll tail is the best part of it . She's the most perfect one despite all the imperfections. Makes me forget everything for a while , seems as if we're the only two happy souls in the world that can be happy with some food and a stick , playing fetch .

1505050645742
txt

My mom always said dogs are a little piece of heaven . Watching them play , pounce and bite their tails is really a piece of joy .
Lyca has taught me a lot of things like to give best company , to be affectionate , to be loyal and to forgive , forget and love again even after going through tough times .

Finally I'd like to say love is not something that is easily defined nor can it be measured . But it is powerful and is something to be enjoyed . I was given my life , I was given love with this life , I was given freedom of choice and many other gifts . So now it's my turn to give and until I give I'm not likely to receive love . As I give love I make space to receive love . I open up to love and in this way I give love a chance . I also do not need to wait for an opportunity to give , the occasion is always present . My spirit , my soul is healed as I give love and receive as much in return .
What is love to you ? Is it blind loyalty ? Does it have to be perfect and free from other motivations ?
Do you consider it to be the perfect gift ?
What according to you is the perfect gift in your life ?
Do let me know in the comments :)

I thought I'd leave this article blank after that headline because it would make for a great meta joke, but then I realised I myself wasn't writing this on a Sunday morning, so making that joke becomes a little redundant. But since we're here anyway, I am going to add a twist in the biryani anyway. Before we begin, however, if you're awake by the time this article is published on Facebook, you're doing it wrong. Therefore, our first point becomes

1. Not waking up before 12 noon:

If you're awake at around 8 AM, when this article will be published, and reading this already, you've failed Sunday. It's a Sunday morning, my friend, who wakes up on a Sunday morning!? Go right back to sleep and lock the door. Not in that order.

2. Put Burno Mars's Lazy Song On A Loop:

Why on a loop? Because you're too lazy to think of any other songs! If you have a decent set of speakers in your room, just blare the Lazy Song until everyone in your house gets sick of your nonsense and kicks you out of bed themselves. That'll save you the energy and the effort of having to get up yourself! It's ingenious!

3. Get up from your bed, then sleep on the couch:

Assert your dominance in your house. When your parents wake you up, leave your bed, take your blanket and then go straight to the couch and sleep there while your parents are throwing daggers at you with their eyes. For more domination, sleep on your parents bed after it is made and mess it up. Don't call me if you get kicked out of the house.

4. Don't read this point:

Come on, if you've managed to reach this point, you're not being lazy enough. Go on, get going, just lay in your bed, don't pick up your phone, cuz today you'll swear you're not doing anything. Nothing at all.

See now that is peak laziness, even the above lines are not mine.
