All the electrical and electronics students , rejoice!

Here comes one of the most awaited conferences, the 30th International Conference on VLSI Design. And the venue is none other than apna Hyderabad.

A dekko at the growth of vlsi:

The electronics industry has witnessed an exceptional escalation over the last few decades, chiefly due to the rapid advances in large scale integration technologies and system design applications. With the dawn of very large scale integration (VLSI) designs, the number of applications of integrated circuits (ICs) in high-performance computing, controls, telecommunications, image and video processing, and consumer electronics has been rising at a very fast rate.

A blend of Quantum Physics and Genetic Engineering has created an era in the field of Science. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have managed to genetically enhance a virus that can improve the efficiency of solar cells in transporting energy. By exploiting the technique used by the plants in photosynthesis, genetically improved viruses are designed, which enable the Solar Cells to generate energy with nearly double efficiency. It is said that when compared to plants, the solar cells stand nowhere when it comes to the efficiency. Therefore, the study of ‘quantum mechanics’(also referred as quantum weirdness) involved in photosynthesis helped in improving the functioning of the solar cells. This quantum mechanics in plants allows the existence of a particle in more than one place at a particular instant of timeThis technique is used in designing the improvised solar cells. In photosynthesis, when a photon hits a receptor called a chromophore, a quantum particle called exciton is produced.

An exciton transfers from one receptor to another until it reaches a reaction center to harness energy. Percent of efficiency depends on the path choosen by the exciton to reach the reaction centre.Unless the exciton takes the best way, maximum efficiency is not possible. For this to be accomplished, chromophores should be arranged with the right amount of gap between them. This is done based on ‘Quantum Goldilocks Effect’. Using the same concept, MIT researchers used genetically engineered viruses and were able to bond it with multiple synthetic chromophores or organic dyes. For the research study, viruses with variable spacing are produced in between the chromophores and the efficiency is tested and concluded which spacing gives the best efficiency.Eventually, the speed of excitons was also improved by more than 200 percent. It was also found that the excitons now travelled a much larger distance before dissipating the entire energy. However, the study is still under initial stages but it has paved a way for a better furture. In this period of sparse energy and non-renewable energy sources being on the verge of exhaustion ,this way of efficient solar energy passes on sighs of relief by a promising alternative.

Just Being Online Makes You Really, Really Depressed

It has been theorized for basically as long as the Internet has been publicly available that being online can make you seriously, clinically depressed. It’s not an assertion made without evidence, as numerous surveys of infrequent-to-addicted internet users show a positive correlation between their number of web surfing hours logged and their subsequent feelings of sadness, isolation, and alienation. Some critics postulate that heavy use of the internet more than doubles a person’s chance of being depressed. Others say that the internet might not be depression’s trigger so much as it is its refuge.

Online Socializing Makes You Insular

When communicating in person, the entire interaction is punctuated with non-verbal cues that can totally supercede the meaning of the words within it. Absent the conversation partner right in front of you to indicate his or her sarcasm or sincerity, you have only your own filters through which to interpret the language. It should come as no surprise that your internal filters are surprisingly dependent on your present mood; thus a semantically ambiguous phrase like “no thanks” sent after a particularly rough commute home is much more easily-absorbed as a sardonic dismissal instead of–and perhaps how it was intende–a mere polite refusal.

If the opposite happens, and you are endowed with a ton of friends on Facebook or some other social media site, other studies have demonstrated that your stress levels are likely through the roof. The higher your friend count, they say, the more likely you are to be consumed with publishing bite-sized and socially acceptable aspects of your personality to the online public, which only exacerbates issues with your real-life relationships. The end result: the stress of maintaining online friends prevents you from making–and maintaining–any more real ones.

It Encourages Multitasking, Which Reduces Your Ability To Task, Period

The Internet, with the aid of computer hotkeys, has given its users the incredibly easy ability to jump between tasks, subjects and ideas within a matter of seconds. Because there’s no wait, we make these jumps frequently–really frequently–about every two minutes. Except we never actually utilize the “multi” part–or even the “task” part of the Internet’s supposed gift. Instead, we get caught in the ceaseless mental doldrums between interrupting and restarting. And so, given that clear memories of single events are unattainable on the Internet, the brain attempts to compensate for that with blurry, multiple-exposure memories of everything that happened.
Multi-tasking in this sense can reduce one’s ability to pay attention at all, and in turn reduces our ability to think critically and problem solve. Studies have shown that after a while, your ability to recall memories starts to deteriorate, along with your IQ. The more one multi-tasks, the greater the cognitive damage becomes and the harder it is for you to recover. And if these habits begin in childhood, the risk of developing an attention deficiency disorder spikes, as well as many other behaviour problems down the line.

"}]
Born on Aug. 29, 1905, to a Rajput family in Allahabad, Dhyan Chand would turn up to join the Army, just like his father Sameshwar Singh. It was in the Army where Dhyan Chand took up hockey, having never played it solemnly before, according to his own remembrances. His younger sibling Roop Chand would next follow in his footprints.

His original name was Dhyan Singh, but as he used to practise at night only in moonlight — floodlight would come to India much later, and to hockey even later — his friends and partners provided him with the name "Chand," meaning the moon.

The Indian Hockey Federation had requested massively for the reintroduction of field hockey in the 1928 Olympics, and after they accomplished to make that happen, were scanning for the best unit to send there. For this, they arranged an inter-provincial tournament in 1925, but the Army team, for which Dhyan Chand played, was not amidst them. He received permission from his team to play for the United Provinces — one of the five teams in the game.

Overcoming economic troubles and ailment in the last match, India won the gold at the 1928 Amsterdam Summer Olympics, an achievement they would go on to repeat in the next two Olympics. And on all three occasions, Dhyan Chand would star.

In fact, he would be picked without formalities for the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics when his company refused him leave for another inter-provincial tournament for the games, while the rest of his teammates had to compete.

India would win the gold again by blocking hosts the USA by a 24-1 margin, a history that would take more than 70 years to break. he would again be denied permission to partake in the inter-provincial tournament before the 1936 Berlin Olympics, but having been chosen to captain the team, was again selected without formalities.

The team won the gold again, releasing only a single goal to be scored against them completely through the tournament. Legend has it that Hitler, excited by Dhyan Chand's mastery of the game, granted him German citizenship and a leading rank than he had in the Indian Army.

He refused. Long before this, Dhyan Chand had earned the moniker of "wizard" or "magician" of hockey.
"}]
Helpless during death On one side there are tremendous facilities for the urban population wrt health care and on the other end there is barely any facilities for people to take care of their loved ones in case of an emergency and death. One heartbreaking incident occurred in Odisha, where a man walked 10 km with his wife’s body on his shoulder along with 12-year-old daughter by his side weeping. He had no vehicle to take home his wife’s body from a government hospital. His wife, died of tuberculosis at the hospital in Kalahandi on Tuesday night at a young age of 42.

Hospital washes its hands off the hospital from where he took his wife’s body categorically informed they could not help with transport and hence they asked him to carry his wife’s body. When reached by the televsion crew Mr Majhi, the husband of the deceased wife said “I told the hospital authorities that I am a poor man and cannot afford a vehicle. I kept requesting them but they said they could not help,” Mr Majhi.

Walking with a wrapped bodyWrapping the body in a cloth, he walked for his village, along with his daughter. This is a place where medical help is not easy to get. Government’s scheme ‘Mahaparayana’ i.e offering to transport bodies from government hospitals free of charge. Under the scheme, 37 government hospitals were given vehicles to carry the dead.None of those were available when Mr Majhi desperately needed the service.

TV crew came and helpedIt was the TV crew who had called up a senior officers and arranged an ambulance for the remaining journey to Mr Majhi’s village. Kalikesh Singh Deo, a Member of Parliament of the state’s ruling Biju Janata Dal and Kalahandi’s District Collector Brunda have expressed their shock over the incident and have ordered an immediate inquiry into the incident.
"}]
In the monotonous life cycle of a student, which mainly includes eating, sleeping, lectures, and repeating, ‘College Fests’ shows certain degree of fluctuations in the excitement levels of students. Why wouldn’t it? As the fest slowly marches closer and closer with time, every student can taste the sweet scent of hard work; hard work of not only the students organizing it but the ones killing themselves with incessant practices. GUSAC Anniversary provided an excellent platform to showcase all kinds of different talents of the students ranging arts like music, dance, drama & painting, etc.

So here I wrote my personal opinion or feeling on the GUSAC anniversary 2016.
Firstly. I'm not a member of GUSAC but as I have minimum idea of what is GUSAC & what does it do, I like GUSAC because they might be less in number but they work so hard to enlighten the other students & it's not a small thing to enlighten the other students in the events & to manage studies as well as other circular activities at the same time but they do. This GUSAC Anniversary was not all about entertainment it's much more than entertainment i.e., inspiration & self esteem from the seniors(the founders of GUSAC) and also from the participants, that we can also do something like them and achieve something in life. I seriously felt after watching the videos of the founders of GUSAC that Life is not about studying, eating, sleeping, earning but it's about achieving something & getting an identity that you exist and exhibiting your skills to the world. Once if we achieve some thing the happiness we get, can't be earned by any million dollars. It made me think When a person like me can do something great why can't I do, What's wrong with me in doing, What have I done till now which made me & others happy? First a fall the creative thought of having GUSAC in the University where more than 10,000 people stay is wonderful. Many people will have or get creative thoughts but how many people work hard to implement that? & also to continue that? It's been 5 years for GUSAC and now it's one of the big event or group in the University and students wait for it. But did they ever imagine, on the day they found GUSAC that, this will be this successful ? By this I understood that first we should know where our heart is and start exposing our ideas, never feel shy and should start working for that sincerely. For this we need to have courage, stability of mind, hope, patience because success will never come to us the day we start doing something. A student should be an all-rounder like volunteering & participating in the events which also helps them to develop their career like communication skills, organising skills, dealing with different people & realise what they are good at. Even the participants did not play a small role in the Anniversary. They deserve a lot of applause by the spectators because of their team work or co-ordination in the dance, music, etc. They just rocked the evening with their talents. A person need lots of guts to perform on the stage before thousands of people when he/she knows that everyone look at them because People are so fearful about opening themselves up.

Highlights of the program are :
Skit performed by faces-They passed the message about women abuse with no single word but only through facial expressions and acting which shows their hard work & needs lots of concentration.

*Painting of our Thalaiva Rajinikanth by leg with in a very short span(10 to 15 mints). He fit for the slogan of 'practise makes a man perfect'.

Music Band- One of the person in the band played music on wood rather using drums & when they played game Of thrones(GOT) music it was like aww. for the people like me who watch GOT.

Even though there are some technical problems but still the event went on good. The culturals proved 'self Confidence is the best outfit, Rock it & own it' because they had confidence & they rocked the event. When the event becomes successful the appreciations also goes to the organisers for the management who actually worked hard back stage because they know thousands of people have hope, belief on them & they need to impress the people for the event to be successful. Personally I just came to chill out with my friends to the fest but I never thought this fest will make me think all the way above. Finally, I can just say GUSAC is a proved place of talent hub & creative thoughts. GUSAC Anniversary is just a perfect example for the fearful people who don't exhibit their skills & great inspiration for the people like me who wanted to do something.

Life doesn’t always give us what we want out of it. The unexpected twists, turns and jolts are what it is composed of.

We get road blocks all through our journey of life- some major and some minor ones.It is up to us to either work towards clearing it or giving up.

Here’s an inspirational life story of a man who did not give up hope. And here he is, an example of why not to give up when things turn sour. He re instills faith in the fact that we have solutions to all our problems, but we need to look for them without giving up. And when the time’s right, everything will fall into place.

On Going out on a limb:

When I was purchasing my first extravagance auto, in 2004, everybody let me know that I was committing a major error. Forty lakhs in 2004 for an auto, even an extravagance auto, was a major ordeal. I was to a great degree anxious, yet basically needed to take the risk. I let myself know that I would auction the auto if more terrible came to most exceedingly bad. Luckily for me, the danger paid off amazingly. No other auto rental administration had extravagance autos of this stature. There were ones who had acquired second hand models and the states of those autos were a long way from flawless. I was the main individual in Bangalore to put resources into a fresh out of the box new extravagance auto and it did extremely well.

On the off chance that you need to work together, you should will to go out on a limb. When I purchased my Rolls Royce in 2011, individuals cautioned me about the extent of disappointments against purchasing such an enormously costly auto.

I let myself know that I had gone for broke in 2004, why wouldn't i be able to take one again right around 10 years after the fact? It cost me very nearly four crore rupees, to purchase the auto. Be that as it may, by and by, it was a danger that paid off. It's been three years since, and it's has ended up being immensely well known. In December this year, the EMI installments will be over.

Greatest Difficulties:

Each business will confront difficulties and pitfalls. Last April, I needed to pay more than three crores in street assesses alone. Despite everything I don't know how I figured out how to pull the sum together. I acquired from such a variety of individuals and set up property reports to get the money. Each business will have repeating considerable difficulties. The thought is to grasp them wholeheartedly and tackle them intensely.

I had been in the red for some time with the street charge, yet in one more year or so we will be free of that.

Thoughts for What's to come:

Prior we used to pay assesses quarterly. Starting now, I have needed to stop the arrangements for development on the grounds that the assessments have ended up high as can be. In 2015 we are going to purchase some stretch limousines and other such vehicles.

Message Yearning for Business people:

Ramesh Babu emphasized the straightforward message to business people that he advised understudies to follow in his TED talk. "Buckle down , BE Modest, Whatever else IS JUST Good fortune".
"}]
