Depression, somewhere or the other all of us face this at different stages of life.
The scientific reason for depression is unknown while mentally "stress" can be a major reason for depression.
Today I've read a news in 'The HINDU'. The headline was: 'Zaira Wasim reveals her struggle against depression, contemplates 'Break from everything'
The 'DANGAL' actress accepted that she had been suffering from depression and she stated that she wanted a break from everything work, movies, study and most importantly from social media.
She posted that on her Instagram account.
According to WHO(World Health Organisation)'s survey around 350 billion people around the world are affected by depression.
Depression is measured in 'Hamilton Depression Scale'
This scale consists of 21 questions and helps to determine the stage of depression.
Depression is seriously dangerous, I've seen one of my friends go through it. He was depressed with his failure. He is a good student was performing well academically until he failed in an exam in the first year of his graduation. This moved him deeply, he began thinking that he was fit for nothing. He kept saying "I'm fit for nothing. I missed qualifying NIT with just 5 marks and now I've failed."
I was too worried about him. Depression led him to lose hope in life. He lost his appetite, giving up on things he loved. He gave up on cricket, movies and even set aside his smartphone.
He became weak and suffered from several physical issues like insomnia(lack of sleep) and sometimes even hypersomnia(oversleep). In course of a month, he lost weight heavily and unintentionally.
He used to write whatever he felt in a book and used to hide it under his bed. one day, we found that book and were surprised to see what he wrote. He filled a book with his life story which was exceptionally great.
His writing skills were awesome and we found a writer in him and he came out of his depression when people started appreciating him for his work.
Depression can be from failure, love issues, loss of loved ones, and several unknown factors.
depression also leads to IED(Intermittent Explosive Disorder).
A person suffering from this bursts out into rage despite lack of apparent provocation or reason.
A person with this instantly bursts out breaking things, harming people and using abusive words even on little things.
Probably like 'Dr.Arjun Reddy' from Arjun Reddy movie.
Totally depression is very dangerous but staying in company of friends and family might help us from getting out of this.
